"The Orville". A Seth McFarlane Space Adventure on Fox

I thought the scene with LaMarr and Talla was kind of funny, but stupid. Even if you have incredible strength, you can still tone it down in that situation. If she didn't have any control she would be damaging the ship just using a console. It didn't make sense. I'm glad they are putting some humor back in, but use some common sense.

Man…bringing the emotional heavy hitter with the Isaac-Claire story this week.

I was elated to see Isaac finally get to experience things, and so happy for Claire…just to have them rip that rug out from under me and bring me crashing back down.

What a well delivered performance by Mark Jackson. Bravo.

I agree that the Talla-John story was a bit odd. Like Sluis Van Shipyards just mentioned, if she broke John every timdd we they got intimate, I feel she’d be accidentally breaking things all the time. It played well for comedic value, but was pretty silly.

I also liked Charly’s growth this episode. I have a love/hate relationship with her character, as there are times when I really can’t stand her, but others when I really like her. I honestly believe that’s the way the character is supposed to be viewed…and if that’s the case, she’s well written and well portrayed.

I am kind of curious if we will see that there are some lingering effects from the procedure on Isaac. I got a hint at the end when he asked Charly to help that there was more there than just logic.

But there are circumstances when one might lose control, in the moment, so to speak.
Thats how I took it.

I was surprised they didn't go for the obvious one though!

I cringed when I logged in and saw that it was 90 minutes long. But it was well spent. The story was well written, well paced and no superfluous fluff just to drag it out.

There was real character development in Chriton making his mind over, Borris wanting to kill the guy who hurt his daughter.

Even Gordon grew and was willing to throw his career away to not only call out the Moklans, but also the cowardice of those looking the other way.

Great adventure this week.

My current work schedule is making it difficult for me to watch all these episodes of shows that are over an hour long. I don’t know when I’ll get to watch this one. I fired it up to see the run time, then just turned the TV off.

Terrific episode and it’s getting better as each season progresses. I’m really enjoying how previous storyline’s are touched upon and still developing.
What some consider ‘padding’ within an episode, I find almost relaxing, and to a degree informative/extrapolative as a fan of sci-fi (in general) and this series.
