I just finished transplanting a sound board from a cheap Han solo costume blaster into my vintage kenner solo blaster !!!!
 
why not? it sounds better than the original 1977 sound. They used a dc motor and a piece of plastic.
 
Yeah, my original's motor died too. However, I think the Rubies sound board would work better improving an E11, pipe, resin, or Hasbro - no way that sound is supposed to be a DL-44.

Oh my god! You've still got the sticker on that thing! And I think I busted the gearshift-floaty thingy on the landspeeder sometime in '78...then busted off the top engine. The whole thing is in pretty sorry shape right now.
 
It works, it has the sticker on - but i painted the flashhider gunmetal (as a child):

Just a flashlight bulb and 2 wires, stuff i found in a drawer in dads garage - as a child i had no idea to make it any better. Maybe that´s the reason it´s still working? :lol

These aren't my originals, those befell the same fate as yours and are long gone.
These were replacements to try and fill the void .:lol
