Rubies DL-44 conversion

Hello all. I know this isn't a major project, but I thought I'd share my conversion of a Rubies DL-44 Han Solo pistol. I opted to leave the sound functional, so I also left the battery cover removable.

Filled in the screw holes and gave it a light sanding, then used gray primer for a base coat. Next was a matte black, then painting the grip and adding the weathering. Finished it up with a clear matte varnish to prevent chips and scratches.

The Rubies is a good approximation of the size of the hero, and you’ve done a good job sprucing it up.
I think this has great potential for trooping, trick or treating, or display.
Again well done on the paint, and welcome aboard.

I grabbed one of these from the Stormtrooper room sentry set that had this as a pack in, great potential for trooping, trick or treating, or display.

Thank you very much! I just got the Stormtrooper blaster to go with the Home Depot animated figure. Painting that one is my next project.

In case this link helps, painting one of those was one of my very first prop replica projects!
