The next release of the Tomenosuke Blaster from Blade Runner

Cheers mate. I have to admit, I still goggle-eye at it myself regularly! I feel very privileged to have the collection I do. And the beauty of owning a video/film production company is that it's all paid for by my business! Whoop, whoop!

Top right is a Coyle (2015), bottom right is a Sid. As for the "ghost", it's a Tomenosuke kit that I polished and assembled...

Enjoy! :)

Wow! An amazing collection. Incredible work on the ghost.

So the receiver and barrel have the same blued finish on the HCG exclusive? Sorry if I'm a bit slow here... it's really a key point for me :)

As stated before, I personally have not held this at this point and only the owners have seen it. To my understanding the bluing is on the receiver and barrel. But let me confirm that this week when I get back to the office.

Thanks :) And sorry, I must have missed that post :)

Well I pulled one of two triggers and bought it. When I finally pay it off I will worry about customs.

As long as it has the attached document that was mentioned earlier, it should not be an issue. My OffWorld model didn't even have a document with it and it came through fine.

I echo veektohr's sentiment tmax. Impressive. For a novice such as myself, what are the other versions and their place in your photo?

No problem. There is much to learn regarding these amazing blasters and the various reproductions on offer. Be warned though, once you start down this road it's incredibly addictive! As you can see by my collection. And there are guys on here with collections that dwarf mine! :)

As mentioned top left is the Ghost from a Temenosuke kit. A fun and easy kit to assemble, only took a few hours. The polishing was by far the most work. The kit can of course be finished however you desire.

Top right is my fav, a 2015 Richard Coyle (aka Racprops). His blaster has to be the most accurate replica on offer. Metal where it should be, plastic where it should be. Incredibly accurate to the original hero prop. Rich has spent thousands of man hours perfecting this prop and it shows. It's just amazing!

Middle is another amazing prop from and incredible prop maker, Rick Ross (aka @Doppelganger01). This is his interpretation of a futuristic BR blaster and the first time I laid eyes on it I knew I had to have one. Pretty much all resin with working lights and the silencer can screw off. A piece of art and I absolutely love it. Rick is an artist! Just check out his new concept BR blaster...

We can only hope it becomes available as a kit one day! Hint, hint Ross! ;)

Bottom right is a Sidkit that I purchased off a gentleman a year or so ago. He'd done the build himself and he did a stellar job. It's all metal (even where it shouldn't be) so has amazing weight to it. She's a touch more rough 'n ready than the Coyle, but a great piece.

Bottom left is the Tomenosuke Retail Assembled version. The Tomeno's are amazing. They work as they should, etc, and are the most robust replica. But unlike the hand made Coyle and Sid they have that production line feel and look to them. Everything is perfect. Just like it would have looked being freshly issued. The Retail version has a mat black receiver whereas this new HCG offering has the blued receiver. Which may not sound like a big deal, but if you look back over the many discussion and build threads about these blasters you will see that a blued barrel and receiver is an important point for many.

On that note it's worth mentioning that as already pointed out, the Tomeno's don't come with a metal barrel (in keeping with Japan's gun laws). And although @Moviefreak is yet to confirm I tend to think this new HCG exclusive version will have the same barrel as the Retail version, and it is in fact just the receiver that has been blued. I could be wrong of course, but either way the blued receiver alone is enough for me.

Hope some of that helps.

It appears to me that the barrel, at least, has been produced in metal(finally).

The bulldog frame could still be plastic, but I see a difference between the finish of the barrel and the frame.

It also looks like the rounds have been improved.

It is possible that it is metal due to the fact that this version was manufactured by HCG in the US.

From their blog "(HCG), Which Sells Tomenosuke Blaster PRO In The North America, Has Offered To Manufacture The Exclusive Edition. "

IF the barrel is metal, is it properly hollow? rifleing I guess would really be asking too much.

If it's metal barrel that makes a difference.

The receiver will be the heavy-weight ABS used in most modern model-guns that come out of Japan. It is quite heavy, and cold(ish) to the touch. It can also be buffed and polished and even blued with some patience and skill. You just need to look at the Nobu editions to see the zenith of Tomenosuke-osity. The picture above I believe is from Nobu's workbench. That is what HW ABS can look like. Untreated, it is a matte dark grey / black. Looks great unfinished. Looks amazing all dressed up.

If the barrel were metal (which I doubt), it likely wouldn't be properly hollow. Even when model-guns are front-venting they're still restricted to prevent any chuckleheads from trying to fire things out of them. I would imagine with this next round of blasters, somebody will come around and do another run of steel barrel upgrades. The design makes it super easy to just grind off the stock barrel and literally slot the new one in. Those weren't completely hollow either, though.

I just spoke with the owner and he said:

"Assume the Barrel & receiver are same material as previous one (I don't have one here to check).

Also... Barrel/receiver has blued finish (all the top section has blued finish).

Wow! Great news on the barrel! An unexpected bonus there for me.

He may have misunderstood because he says all the top section (receiver). The barrel could still be a stupid plastic graphite color as well as the bulldog frame.

I'm now thinking of just sending it to my work... I mean a box from Hollywood collectibles with a cetificate stating it's a prop sent to "Nitrogen Studios Canada" SHOULD not be a problem...

I'll just be gutted if all I get are "seized" papers.

After much "umming and ahing" I went ahead and ordered. I have a resin model that came pre-built from Estonia but that was a resin kit only. I'm hoping I have no issues with UK customs went it lands.

I have read on various forums that HCG put some sort of packing slip inside explaining that is isn't an immitation firearm.

I leave it in the hands of the gods. Fingers tightly crossed she has an uneventuful journey!

I spoke to customer services at Hollywood Collectibles last week and they said expected to ship early Sept.
