The Mandalorian - The Client's War Medal

here's what i think the measurements for the ribbon are also:

Totally missed this thread originally. Agree that it would be easy to etch, do you know the dimensions of the medal? I may see if I can get some vinyl cut to use as a resist.

Bit of a moot point until the ribbon can be found.

Looking at the images the black and gold are separate piece, probably black cotton webbing with gold lace trim added on top.

Like this but in gold:

Or this

The shopDisney medal is down to $30 and you can use the code disneypal for 25% off. Had to pull the trigger at that price.

I was looking for a bail that might work. The challenge is finding a large one that is all gold tone but not of a precious metal or else you end up spending more on the bail than you did on the medallion itself.

This is what I found so far. It is 15mm. It might be big enough.

These were the closest i could find to the ribbon and the gold cheveron pattern:

Braid Black 2 Gold Strips 34mm wide R1458

Galon gold metal Chevrons width 30 mm | Etsy

the ceheveron pattern is way to wide though.
I have to wonder if what we are seeing on the ribbon trim is actual gold in color. Sometimes lighting even in studio or sets can make it tough to read gold and silver tones. One thing that makes me suspicious is that both the Disney and the other officially licensed medallion with opted for a non-gold trim ribbon. I have to wonder if they know more than we do when they set out making their replicas.

I know it was hard for me when I first started making the NuBSG pilot wing pins. At first, they looked more like all gold with dual textures, but it wasn't till better source images were available did I pick up on both the gold and silver blend.

Looks like the one in the Mandalorian GameStop exclusive also. Would need to be slightly modified so the Disney Store option seems better if you can get one.

That is the other officially licensed medallion I was speaking of prior. The medallion itself is not a gamestop exclusive. It is the same item you can find here or other websites: Star Wars: The Mandalorian Empire Imperial Crest Medal | Star Wars Necklace. It is simply the box set with other items that makes it an exclusive to Gamestop.

This one has more accurate attachment method to the ribbon. I have not been able to find a measurement on the medallion itself. The Disney site list theirs at 3.5".

I would like to see both next to each other but based on what I see, I think the Disney version has a nicer looking medallion and ribbon but I just cannot be sure.

Shame they don’t ship to the UK, I found these here:

I actually found the other ones on a different site that do ship internationally so picked one up

I have a 3.5” vinyl sticker to use as a resist to etch it in brass at some point.

Made a parallel stitch to the existing stitch, trimmed and sealed the edges with a lighter.

I cut a strip of nylon strapping and sealed the edges with a lighter.

I fashioned the strip to a loop that fit my new hardware.

I stitched the loop to the rear of the ribbon.

I added a little dark weathering paint to the new hardware and assembled.

Here it is….
