The Mandalorian Gunslinger Armor build

holy crap this all looks so good!
This whole suit is deceptively simplistic! So many details and pieces that need to be correct! It’s no Boba Fett in its completely, but damn if this doesn’t look pimp!!!!

Thanks guys, takes me about 20 minutes to put it all on.
Had a chance to do a suit up recently.
I am honestly thinking of molding the armor and having a resin cast of the chest, back and shoulders.
Need a new screen accurate flight suit and boots and I have the wrong gauntlets for ep 1-3.... but I will fix all that eventually.
Helmet cast by Sean Bradley Studio- freaking awesome helmet paintjob: Mr Moldmaker

It’s almost a shame Mando gets the beskar suit, because this suit is so well designed in that hodge-podge, scavenged kind of way. Love your build!

This is the way.

are you free handing all the armor shapes or working from templates?
Free hand.
I made the flack vest and adjusted it to the size I thought it should be then made the armor to fit that.
Went through a couple size iterations before I landed on this one.
first couple chestplates are in this picture.

Really nice work. I am really interested in seeing the right shin armor. That will be a fun make.
Thanks , the one in the picture above is 10mm floormat foam. the right shin was definitely hardest to free hand and at the time there were no templates available. I cant for the life of me figure out a way to recreate that shape with sintra.

I have a template now and might make a foam version 2 and coat it with xtc 3d or epsilon. then I might try to mold and cast in 65d or something. really trying to avoid 3d print but it may come to that o nthat piece like the gauntlets.

I will post some progress when I get to that soon.

I could not find a good way to scratch build the right shin. My brother in law printed Nigel Chua’s file for me. Sanded through the grits 80/100/150 a couple times then filler primer coats with wet sand f at 400. Painted Montana gold shock brown dark and the boomerang was chestnut.
attached the center with elastic in the front and magnets in back.
Sewed the pleather strap and painted the ammo cylinders with Duralumen.
next up molding the shoulder armor. one beskar and the damaged pre beskar. then onto moilding the chest and back.
