Yes seems like it, season 2 version (machined one) has a few subtle changes like the "blade holder screws"? This is great as we now have a closeup look at the color/texture of the grips and other hard to see things like the emitter, and end cap. The button certainly is difference since in season 2 we see it fully lit.
I have been looking for textured product for the raised grips on the hilt and this is still the closest I could find but the thickness is a bit much. Tempted to modify the design by guabe to have small channels in the raised sections for this tape to be placed in and stick just above the surface as seen in the renderings above and the "art of the Madalorian" drawing.
Anyone know of thinner grip tape? If not the only other way to get that texture is likely masking off and then bead blasting/sand blasting with coarse media (walnut shells for example), or having to model it into the design and then print at crazy hi resolution and not sand away any detail.

The square version is from The Clone Wars. The more rounded handle is more like The Mandalorian version.

So tempting... I will be at Disneyland in June and if they have them in stock... might have to pull the trigger and if I don't like it I'm sure I won't lose any money reselling.
(My way of saying I'm not gonna scalp it, just sell at cost so I don't lose monies incase I change my mind.)
That emitter do be looking a bit chunky though.
Disney needs to work on a thin neck solution.
It's the only reason I don't want thier Leia saber.

The display emitter isn’t a bad solution for now. I just doubt they’ll make a consumer electronic with a high risk of breakage.
Even in the customs community, thin necked sabers are not considered duelable.

Grips are definitely supposed to be grey. Maybe a tad darker, but the bts show it’s definitely grey. As for size, I’ll take the whole thing being a little larger vs the odd choice with the GE version to just make the emitter larger. That thing looks so off.
Looks like they made it possible to install a D-ring, which I might do for carry purposes.
