The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

Hello everyone
I don't know if many of you have heard about The Hunger Games trilogy of books by Suzanne Collins, but they are a great read. More to the point however, there are quite a few props that could be made from them.
E.G.
The silver parachute
The mockingjay pin
The Holo
Katnisses Bow and arrows
and other things such as blank books with journals on.
How hard would they be to make?
Either way, you should read the books.

I'm actually just starting research for the Battle Outfit. The trailer was released a while back and i love the style of the costumes. Once I get more research done i'll start a thread

I just finished all three books, because I saw that the first movie is coming out. I have to say that the first one is by far my favorite. :] I would lovvee to see a MockingJay pin!

I'll have to find it later, I'm positive I saw mention of Mockingjay Pins in another thread. There's an official one from Scholastic, and a second version that's made by someone else. They can be found on the Bay of E.

I think the one you have is the one made by Scholastic, based on the books.

The thread I was thinking about is over in the Movie Forum and can be found HERE. There's a "movie" one that Lionsgate gave out at the 2011 SDCC, presumably based on the prop in the film.

For some reason when I read this trilogy I couldn't get enough. I am very excited for the films and hope that they do the text justice. I look forward to sharing my own hunger game ideas for props and gleaming info from the boards.

Nice compilation, thanks for posting! Is NECA releasing a second version of the Mockingjay pin? I'm fairly certain the one pictured in the Amazon link is actually the promo pin as it looks identical to the one I have. The current NECA version is rather hideous...

The one in my post is the replica. It's not out yet, either. But, if you look at the trailers it appears to be that bronze-y color. (Looks like they're changing the pin's origin, too.)

I also noticed they altered the pin's history, although I figured that would happen when I heard rumors about another change they made. (Trying to be vague to avoid spoilers.) As long as it works on screen, I guess. :unsure

It makes me happy they're releasing another option for the pin though. I have the Scholastic and promo pins already, and I wanted another one like the promo pin, just without the ridiculous mark-up on eBay. I do wish it was a bit more "gold" though.

I don't really like how the pin looks in the trailer, though it looks better than the replicas.. When I read the books I pictured it much smaller and shiny. Like the one Juno has..
