I’m curious, how much range of motion does he have in his mouth? I’m assuming the foam block for the face is fairly flexible.

Thanks; the range is pretty good! The foam is actually surprisingly strong, but the one thing I wonder about is how long it would last though, as I’ve heard foam can break down over the years. It was hollowed out quite a bit as I tried to make the mouth part as thin as I could without making it too fragile, and then I added a piece of felt over it on the inside. If I were to build another one, I’d like to experiment with making the mouth part out of something like a rubber sheet, kind of like Kermit’s, and then attach the foam parts on the top and bottom separately—might not be as accurate as what is seen on screen, but since there’s just so much movement involved around the mouth, it’s kind of scary how much the foam can take before it starts to wear down!

I’ll take a video eventually showing the movement, it’s fun to see the eyelids work too.

Can I ask where you bought your foam from ? I have been trying to find some for ages and have not been able to track down a good source.
