The First Prop you ever made.

Oh that's just awesome! Your FIRST?!?!?!?! :confused

Going way back to 1991 I made a Rocketeer jetpack by taping together two empty 2Liter bottles and taping on some paper and drawing the details on it.
I've come a long way since then.

Sorry ,but it was my first........I have other stuff since then , but this was the beginning for me took 10 years to get parts and a year to build this.......

Hmm, first prop. Man, I know I made many toy weapons (space swords, laser rifles, and ghost busting equipment) back when I was a kid. I really wish I had pics of those just to show off the creativity, they were no means accurate or professional and didn't last long with a little brother playing with me. LOL

I think that my first prop that I still have on me was a home made Klingon painstick that I carried with me at conventions (back in the early 90's). It really wasn't screen accurate (at the time it was difficult to find screen shots) and since this was to match a costume, it was good enough for pictures (again, back before digital cameras were around).

The notched out part held a 9v battery and circuit board that my father had rigged to the prongs. I recall it didn't work as well as we hoped, but it still scared the crap out of people when it saw them coming towards them. As you can see, it got alot of use. I'm thinking of making a new one with a joy buzzer (wind up or electric) on the tip. But, I'm still thinking on that project and will have to look around the hardware store for more inspiration.

The first "professional" prop replica I made was a Zippo lighter like the one used by the cigarette smoking man. It was a plan $10 Zippo with the text "Trust No One" engraved on it. I did that when I worked for a sign and engraving shop. I used it all the time to hep give it a worn look, but since I stopped smoking years ago, I seemed to have misplaced it. I have the "blueprints" for it somewhere. I will look for both and start their own thread when I do. It bothers me that I can't find it, I was very proud of that lighter.

Mine was a Blue EL Lightsaber made from pvc pipe, I later converted a Parks fury with those electronics cause that particular EL was far better than the Parks crap at the time

Im new to RPF and I just wanted to share the first attemp at prop making. I am trying to build an arc reactor for a future suit build I plan on doing.

I am fairly new as well and my first attempt at a build was this year. I went for the Evil Dead chainsaw and Boom Stick, though I need to tweak a few things on the saw.

The first prop I ever made was a K-9 (from Doctor Who) when I was 6 I made it out of a toaster for the main body, a plant pot for the head and an old tire air gauge for the nose.

But the first real attempt would be these clonetrooper helmets (I worked on them at the same time) 2 years ago.

Still have have weathering to do to the gun grips and gotta add a sound kit. But, heres my first prop. Had all of the parts laying around all year but wound up doing 90% of the actual work within a 2 week period in order to have it ready for last Halloween. haha Cant wait for pack #2, 3, 4 and other possible future props ;)

sorry, cruddy cell phone pic.. I posted the build in this forum a few weeks ago. however.
