The First Prop you ever made.

All the first prop pics lost to water damage but here's the 1999 Vader, and his pals, all homemade, for our band Grand Moff Tarkin:

The first Stormtrooper was made out of Bathmats and Milk Jugs because Mike Glover had screwed us. Sure they aren't that correct, but we had to play an hour of Punk Rock in them. All the sets and guns are made from Gatorade bottles and we had a functioning Sarlaac and an Exploding Death Star. Tons of Pyro, this was before Great White. Had some great shows with GWAR and The Misfits.

I think the most fun to make were the Dancing Girls costumes:

The Death Star Stewardesses where my favorite.

Laffo.
Now that's my kind of "live show". Still playing? Videos?

Oh man, I made a bajillion Star Wars/Logan's Run/Galactica blasters from paper towel tubes, toothpaste boxes and masking tape when I was in grade school. Pepakura before it was cool.

The first prop I truly tried to replicate was a real Graflex ANH. My auction for that saber brought me an invitation to join this storied little group.

I would have to say the first "prop" was a lightsaber made from a cordless mike. Used rubber weather striping as the grips. Same year I sculpted a mini bust of the Kraken to show Rey Harryhausen who was visiting our school. This was in 1982 :eek. I knew then I was going to work in the film industry. :wackohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Harryhausen

I made a replica One Eyed Willie eye patch... which is almost identical to the screen used prop. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how.

I was always taking my toys apart and had many I could not figure out how to put back together. My uncle had a truck and he had just installed some new illuminated toggle switches in it. I loved how they glowed. I was about 7 or 8 and I begged my mom to buy me some. She did, but thought it would be a big waste of money. I built myself a new toy out of those switches, some LED's from scrapped toys, and a broken calculator and made something. I rigged it up so a 9 volt battery would power the lights. The toggles would go in and off as you switched them. Then I took the LEDS and chip from one of those silly visors they used to sell at carnivals back then and had it so the LED's would flicker. In my mind it was some sort of high tech handheld computer or something.

I just barely got myself into costume and prop making about 2 years ago. My first costume was a cardboard autobot ratchet, hence my name. But, I have been making props and armor from the Fallout universe and my first prop I made was my Electron Charge Pack and Gatling laser build. I made them totally for free using foam core display board, 2mm and 4 mm foam sheets and whatever tidbits of junk I had laying about. The weathering job was pretty bad, but, it was my first attempt and quit e a big first attempt. I am currently revisting this build to redo my crappy weathering job and filling in of gaps and fixing rough edges.

Let's see...it was 1976 and I made a Phaser out of some wood. I cut the Phaser one and pistol body with a handsaw I had. For the beam emitter I used a top from a bottle of shampoo with another top stuck into it from a squirt bottle which was conicle in shape and the emitter was not that far off in appearance. The force setting dial was from a toothpast top. Then there was the ducktape which was the only silver in color tape I could find and used that for embellishment. Black spraypaint and all...looking back on it I wished I still had it as it was better that the screen used crapazoids. You never think back then.

The first prop I ever made was a week ago, and it took me two days :)

I hope you's like it.
Kind regards Jason. :)

Not really a prop(well not at all ) but it was my first "build"
if you cant tell it was a ninja turtle head , made from card board (my brother was shreader) pic take around 1988

The first prop I truly made was my R2 (I ordered a stormtrooper armor kit to join the 501st, but I don't really count that). Been working on R2 going on 4 years or so now, he's not 100% finished but I'm damn proud of where he lies right now!

This is my first, made about 2 year ago, the Reverse Bear Trap from the first Saw movie. Sadly this got stolen before i had a chance to properly weather it, i was not a happy camper. Been tempted to make it again, a little more screen accurate though.
