The "Everything Mythbusters" Thread

I'm just waiting for the day when Jamie just turns around and cold cocks Adam! :lol

Love the show!

As for the 'cold-cocking', from what I have read, Jamie came up with the idea for the show, and asked Adam to work with on it with him, as he felt he wasn't engaging enough. So I think they get along well enough.

As for never seeing that cannonball episode, they also did one on flatulence that will never see the light of day, so this one may be joining them.

And most of the fart footage has come out through talks that Adam has done...as well as on Mythbusters' specials.

It's...interesting.

There was one myth where supposedly a mouse ate something like 4 other mice in the process so the myth will never make it to air. I'm probably butchering the story, does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd love to have more information on it.

Did they do the finger in the muzzle already?
Most of the time they do a great job, but every so often I catch something and say they could' ve tested that a little better.

I have to spend a lot of my day figuring things out for broadcast which is the same boat but I've done work similar to this in the past and I absolutely loved it. Must just be my type of thing.

That is a good point. I love working with my hands, part of how I ended up on this forum.

I think it's the same for most of us!

Not me, I prefer working with my feet. Just gives me that little bit of an extra challenge. :lol

I know many people have said that they want to be Mythbusters because Mythbusters have the best job, and I agree, but more realistically, I would just love to have free reign in their workshop - M5 - for a few weeks. I feel like there are fun toys...err, I mean tools that we never get to see but that would be fun.

I am glad it is a fun, informative show and started before "reality" shows hit it big. Otherwise the show would be all drama, one myth per show, and would not show any of the thought processes on how they tested the myth.

With a lot of eating myths! :lol

my favourite think on UK TV along side doc who, one of my favourite episodes was a recent one "duct tape survival" but its always fun to see what trouble and scrapes Adam and Tory get into, that fantastic crash Tory had thanks to the lovely Scotty and Kari saying he cleared the red cart by about a foot despite actually only being 2 inches off the ground still makes me wince even after seeing it a gazillion times, the really scary episode was the super heated gob-stopper which was like napalm, and there's the line which i shall never forget till the day i die " am i missing an eye brow".

I'm surprised that the Mythbusters haven't tried to make a "tennis ball bomb" yet, considering their love of homemade blow-up-ables like coffee creamer, match heads, and propane bubbles.

A tennis ball bomb is just a tennis ball stuffed with as many strike anywhere match heads as you can get in through a tiny slit...then you throw it hard on the ground or at something and run away.

...supposedly.
