The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

The closest thing I could find was Hunter Green Faux Leather from Fabrics(.)com. Even that isnt 100% accurate.

If you are looking to make your own, I'd start with a forest green. ;)

The screenused suits were made with forest green cow hide that were sprayed with a very light mist of yellow dye to give it a slightly olive tone.

Would spandex be better or maybe lycra

Lycra and spandex are the same thing. Lycra is Dupont's name for elastine fabric. It is more commonly, and generically, referred to as spandex.

The material on the screenused suit is euro jersey knit.

Would this be something that we could do as a run sometime? I do know of a few people experienced with custom leather work costuming runs if interested?

Prim is actually working with a leather company to improve their current offering. We have spent some time going over any and all reference out there to make this is as accurate as possible without actually having a screenused suit in hand. Once he has approved the prototype sample, which they will be mailing to him, these will be made available to anyone willing to buy. The ballpark price I heard is excellent. There should be no reason for anyone else to go with the Cosplaysky version, even if it has improved.

Be advised NOTHING he has teased so far is the final product... color, fit, etc. This is currently only to focus on details/construction/pattern.

This is a good idea, I am making my own right now but it's a pain in the ass to find actual leather in this color any suggestions

I ended up experimenting with mixing green acrylics, airbrushing them to scrap pleather. I would then picture the samples in multiple lighting conditions and then try to match those conditions with pictures. Pain in the ass but I think I got it.

Are you planning to paint your Kestrel to be like from the show with camo lines?

Not paint, no.

But I am working with the Hydrographics shop (where I purchased my bow) that actually dips the finish for all of Oneida's patterned bows (camo, fish, woodgrain, etc), to come up with a pattern for my bow. The owner of the shop is also a fan of the show, so that helps. :cool

Hey everyone. I've been lurking around this thread for a little bit now, and I might have a solution to the boots. As stated before, he has the soles of Nike Free Runs 2.0, but I found something pretty close to the boots he has over them. Primrodo has his Arrow Boot thread, and that got me searching around for some more clues. I would just type in "Combat boots" into google and see what came up, but I have a different approach.

I came across a few brands, but the one I found to look most screen accurate, are the Corcoran paratrooper boots. They look really similar, and they're decently priced on websites like Ebay and such. (Unlike Doc Martens which are about $100+)

Honestly, I do not think those are a great solution at all, none of the details really line up. If you want close enough any combat boot will do...If you want definitive...these unfortunately will not do.

Yeah, the more I looked, the more it seemed to be true :c

I don't think we'll be able to find anything definitive, unfortunately. It sucks too :cry

well the Free Run 2s are definitive, and the upper parts can be made as Prim has said.

I saw this custom made Arrow boots (from Pinterest) with FreeRun attached using shoe goo adhesive.

Those aren't bad. Looks like they used a newer version 4 or 5 for the shoe, and vinyl for everything else. The idea is there though!

Hey Primrodo,

if the suits your having built and made are not going to be a limited run will we be able to order parts separately if we cant put out the money for the whole thing at once ?

Dave

I am sorry, but those look even further off than some of the other suggestions...

Can we talk about the quiver for a minute? Specifically, the one he wears on his back. I know most folks are using a 3" diameter tube (cardboard or PVC) for the base of the quiver. It may just be my imagination or the angle of the photos, but does the quiver look tapered to anyone else? Meaning, the bottom is slightly smaller than the top. What's the consensus on this line of thinking? Plausible or completely crazy? Heh. It's been hard to find a good straight-on shot of the quiver that isn't super dark, so I can't be sure.

I think you're right.
