The Dark Knight Costume Help

Hi there all, been browsing this fine forum for a few days now in hopes of gathering as much data as possible in regards to a replicated Batman costume from the Dark Knight series, however I figured it would be best to sign up and see if I could get it straight from the horses mouth.

Basically what I'm looking at is buying a professionally made Dark Knight costume, however I'm not quite sure on what style I'm really after. I've been looking at the UD Replicas and quite like the Dark Knight Rises set piece, however I wasn't sure what kind of cowl or cape would go well with the costume. I'm also not sure on the quality and overall look for these replicas, so any help there would be great.

I'm also open to other replica sites, I've found a few names dropped here and there but not certain who offers "the best". My budget is roughly $2000 however I haven't factored in delivery costs (to Australia). I have no real deadline on when to get my costume, as I understand it can get quite busy over Christmas period.

Anyways, hopefully someone here has the knowledge to help me out, and would greatly appreciate any comments. Cheers!

If you want something ready made, then get the UD suit. It's very high quality and it looks great. If you want to build it yourself, contact Kris from Hells Kitchen. As far as I know, his armor is about as accurate as it gets. HellsKitchencc.com That's his website. On the RPF, coofunkcurly (Kevin) makes stunning capes and cowls. See if you could get in on one of his runs.

Thanks for the help Sample, greatly appreciated. With the UD Replica suits, do you need to wear an undersuit or is it simply chuck on and wear?

You don't need a mesh undersuit to wear it. It's a jacket and pants, so you could just slip it over your clothes. It was designed to be a motorcycle suit, which eliminates the hassle of having to glue the pieces to a mesh undersuit.

Hi Eorl,

I am in central QLD. I have a recently built dark knight rises suit made for this years halloween. I just glued the armor to some pants and long sleeve shirt, but I am getting screen accurate mesh being sent as we speak. So hopefully in the next month i will have the undersuit done and ready to go. Check out my post

It was made by Hellskitchen but had to wait 12 weeks for it back in August. I think he is now on a backorder until next year. Give him an email. But yeah I am looking at $2900 inc shipping with the mesh suit made up. The last one in Australia went for $3250 on ebay.
