The Book of Eli machete pattern - FREE

Does anyone know where we can get some blanks cut from high quality steel, possibly 1095 carbon steel? it would be nice to have a proper that we can use in the backyard also. The more you use it the better would look

Once I get this blank in, I'll see what we can do to get a good drawing made, but I don't have any ideas on who could make new copies. Miketribal made the last run, but if I recall, there were some timing issues near the end, so I am not sure if he would be up for it again. The product was top notch though!

Wasn't there someone else who was making Conan swords? Maybe he will be interested in doing a run.

Mike reached out to me and said he might be able to help us. Sadly, I got these pieces from Premiere Props. The last time I bought something from them, it took over 90 days to get it... and at the end, a fellow RPFer actually had to physically go there and pick it up for me. So, who knows how long it will be before I actually have the blank in hand.

Cheer up Art, they'll arrive by xmas and be a surprise because you'd forgotten you bought them lol.

Finally got around to wrapping my handle. I used 1/4" deerhide lace I purchased on ebay (25') and twisted as I wrapped. I secured the end with a little bit of hot glue, then wrapped each end with some black artificial sinew. The lace I used was originally a whiskey tan color, so I put a couple coats of neatsfoot oil on to darken it. I just finished applying the oil before I took these pics, so this isn't the final color (though it's pretty close to what I'm shooting for). I'll let it dry overnight and see how I like the color. If needed, I'll apply a couple more coats of oil, and maybe a little bit of dye to reach the color I'm looking for.

All that is left to do is weather the blade!
Kevin Gossett, I am beyond frustrated. I got in the deerhide lace (it is awesome) and I started wrapping. The problem is, randomly, the lace twists inside out, and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it to twist correctly! Did you have this issue, and if so, how did you get around it?

I did have that issue a bit, as well as the lace reversing direction on my twist every now and then! I had to back it up and rework it a couple times.

You have the patience of Job. I am ready to wing this machete across the room and tell someone to "stick around." Wait... wrong movie!

Here it is, Art, with the bible replica I am building, so far:

Thanks!!

Mine is an old black leather-bound bible with a clasp I found on eBay with two Braille bible pages added at the open point. I have plenty of those left over (unweathered) and can mail you a few. I am planning to add the silver cross to the front and add a keyhole to the clasp to simulate the lock on the original. As you may know, Eli's bible in the film is only as thick as a couple of books of books of the bible would be in Braille because each Braille page is so thick.
