The Book of Boba Fett

Can he get that chain mail over his big head:unsure:
Clearly.

Also he could slip it on feet first!

I also find it hilarious that people are dogging on the fight scenes when this exists.

Sorry not sorry, that will never NOT be funny to me. Blah blah blah, "room for improvement"...not when they are heavily relying on the source material. ALL of the source material.

If this was a movie I paid $20 for in the theater, I'd feel a little more let down. For a tv show, it's not as bad as some other stuff I've watched.

I like that we are ditching Luke. We got to see him at his prime and we know why he failed: he dealt in absolutes. It sucks, but it is what is now. After Desolation of Smaug, Battle of Five Armies and Last Jedi, I don't set the bar high anymore. And I still haven't watched Rise...don't intend to. I still think this is some decent SW. Not the greatest, but not that terrible.

I'm excited for the story of all the Mandalorians to continue, I find them far more interesting and actually fully enjoy Boba and Din together. Now make Fennec an honorary Mando and we're squared. If they do a second season of Boba, I'd give it over to Bryce. Rodriguez is just...not good.

So, uh, yeah...... I didn't expect much because I knew who was directing. So in that respect I was kinda surprised. It was RR's better-ish episode.

The gun fights were horribly thought out. And for those wondering why Boba stayed at the bar. The one Mod said it, she was staying in the city to fight. So Boba is too. It's show for the for the people, to show that he sorta kinda cares about them. Instead of running back to his palace and leaving them to the Pykes. Also it's the western trope of getting holed up in the saloon or jail with bad guys and his goons surrounding the place.

It was cool to see those Annihilator Droids from Legends. View attachment 1544416
Though their cannons should have blowing holes in wall, not just leaving pock marks.

Boba sending out that Major Domo with his "terms" was funny. And Boba and Din flying in shooting up everyone was awesome. The rancor was sweet.

But the best part was Cad Bane. I'm really hoping he's not dead.

Grogu, is getting to be a little stinker. What happens when Din tells him no and Grogu gets made and chokes out Din or throws him across the room? A toddler with the Force is a frightening prospect.

Yeah and Boba says he's not cut out for this. I smell someone else maybe wanting to join in the reconquest of Mandalore. Cobb Vanth is totally going to take over, on Tatooine.

All in all, such a strange show. It's weird. It really didn't do anything for larger story, unless the Pykes or larger criminal syndicates are going to show up for revenge later. This story, with the exception of Din and Grogu's side story has no bearing on anything else. And feel like they really wanted to lean into Boba the clone of Jango Fett, who's never really had a choice of who he is, but all of that disappeared. Maybe the show was originally meant to have more episodes? I have to admit, it's production started about the worst time possible.
I still think my issue isn't so much their design inspiration or being preexisting in the SW universe so much as they are just fundamentally the wrong assault tool for that type of environment on visuals/mechanics alone... The only reason they don't sink into the sand and topple over with their immense implied weight and those goofy pointy attack feet was because the Director wanted it. Its not good

People give the AT-AT and AT-ST's crap for their slow moving designs, but if you actually look around at the environments that they are used in, they're seemingly very practical in their actual capabilities of tackling varying terrain types on the fly, be it snow, sand, forest, mountains, hills and valleys etc (because they're largely designed off land megafauna body mechanics), while this design would need to walk on a firm or semi-firm surface to not sink in and get stuck.. I mean its literally trying to stab things with its feet in scenes even...

I wanted to make sure I was up at 3 AM to watch it this morning. So I had a huge dinner of pasta followed by ice cream last night.

When you carbo load in your 20s you’re able to go out and run 4 miles afterwards. When you do it in your 50s, you’re in bed by 6:30 PM!
Man I’m in my 20’s and carbo loading is how I make sure I go to sleep quickly

Well I don’t really have much to add. I agree with most of what’s been said here. The worst I can really say is that all the Boba episodes are just unnecessary…

RE: Who is responsible, I do think this falls far more on Favreau than Filoni. Filoni only wrote one episode, and while he is credited on every episode, that is a bi-product of his title in the company. Same thing with The Bad Batch, Filoni was not responsible for any of the day to day, the people that used to work for him were show running that. I think Filoni is worrying about Mando S3 and (probably more importantly to him) Ahsoka. And if Bad Batch was done by Filoni’s students, then I’m really confused how something by this bad made it through…

Also, adding lyrics to the theme music lowered my opinion of the entire show…

Any bets on how long before there is a thread in the junkyard for a chain mail onesie for our Sideshow and Hot Toys Grogu’s?

If you think Disney hasn't already bought up every discount lot volume of cheap crap Chinese made Renaissance costume chainmail that they're gonna have some subcontractor split up and be remade into mini "Baby Grogu Armor" for everyone's kids, I got a bridge to sell ya

Get ready because you know its coming
