The Book of Boba Fett

I think this is the heart of the issues with the show. They had to do somethign quick, so they took the ideas from the movie (Boba becomes crime lord, gets a rancor etc) and spread them out over a series and filled lots of it with backstory from Mandalorian.

No Crimson Dawn, no Luke, no Tuskens, none of the things people were hoping to see.

So now Boba Fett is a boring nice guy who live out his days on Tatooine with his girlfriend and street gang friends? UGH.
Those info should've been tag as spoilers:oops:o_O:rolleyes:

Oh, did you miss the part at the end where he was being a whiny bitch about being Mayor while Fennec was explaining 'uhhh well yeah...this is what its like stupid' and he replied "We're not cut out for this"?

Yeah the destroying of Boba is far from over. Hes abandoning crime lord life to suddenly live VideoGame main character style and he'll just stop by Tatooine to collect money while everyone runs his business. Get ready for a retcon

10/10

So this needs to stop. *lol* A tabard is basically a rectangular medieval European poncho. Front panel, back panel, neck opening. Usually at least knee-length. Luke's ROTJ outfit consisted of the placketed shirt and matching pants, both black; a sleeveless, open-front vest heavily based on a Tibetan panel coat, in faded black; and the cloak in brown. The vest thing had simplified construction, given the lack of contrasting paneling, and what is an attached front facing/collar on the coat is more of a stole on Luke's garment, attached only at the neck.

It looks to have been a shortened, sleeveless version of what Alec wore in ANH -- same fabric and everything (just a different color).

Same back construction...

Trish's Prequel tunics, with the split stoles, feel very slapdash and sloppy by comparison -- changed for change's sake, same as with the ROTS early-Imperial uniforms. That's also where the "doubled up" tunics come from. His ROTS outfit looks like it's supposed to be his ANH outfit, but it's too short, constructed wrong, and worn wrong. Obi-Wan and Luke both wear their tunics open to the sash. Prequel Obi-Wan and Anakin have them overlapped almost up to the neck. Can't make them the same way as the OT and have them lay that way.

Luke's outfit here is basically an all-fabric version of PT Anakin's, with less ridiculous stoles. Overlapped gi style shirt, too-high-overlapped sleeveless tunic, double stoles instead of one going around the neck. I kinda hate it because of that... :cautious:
Oh, yeah, it's nothing like a real tabard. I think one of the Visual Dictionary's started to call them that. Your right it's more similar to liturgical stole. At least in the OT. And in the Prequels they became two separate pieces of fabric, and don't really look like anything I've seen.

As said before its a Real shame the story didn't match the look of the show...
It Could have been a Real Belter if they stuck to a Hard-nosed story Arc and not wasted time giving incidental characters Throwaway lines...

I think the Last or nearly last line in the episode was given to a background character bleating about why they didn't get a piece of Fruit!

Really!

Disney must have a great toy range lined up ?

By the way, if you sat through the end credits you'll notice the theme now actually has lyrics, i.e. "Boba ... FETT!". As if the episode wasn't cheesy enough...

Amen to that.

Also Grogu... As much as I love him, it was stupid to bring him back with Mando. The whole story for the first 2 seasons of Mando was about returning him to his kind/Jedi. They went through blood sweat and tears to do that and finally handed him over to Luke. Now he's back again? That story is complete, It would be nice to see S3 have Mando go solo and we can meet some new characters. Definitely about the $$$. I don't mind SEEING Grogu but following the path of the Jedi would have Made more sense. I don't know, maybe there's some grand plan for him.

The grand plan you speak of refers to a marketing plan….”Grogu Dollars” for the House of the Mouse.

I've seen Fan films better put together than this stuff.:rolleyes::sick::sick: I didn't know that I had to have a lobotomy before watching the last episode!
Ah, to forget everything and starting with a clean slate...StarWars you say? Never heard about it! Let's have the mind of a 5 year old and enjoy those shiny scooters:whistle:

Possibly the cheesiest scene of the episode. My eyes were rolling so hard it gave me a migraine.View attachment 1544404
This same scene where its focusing on Mando, while Boba is off to the side or in the background pointlessly shooting at the same spot over and over and over and over literally had me yelling and swearing at my TV in anger because its just so horrifically stupid... Especially when they had the audacity to have Mando then say "Think it through!"

You cant even watch the Boba Gets his Revenge on the biker scene anymore because its just straight murder now hahahaha... oh but its ok now because Boba's a goodie. **** all their families

So, uh, yeah...... I didn't expect much because I knew who was directing. So in that respect I was kinda surprised. It was RR's better-ish episode.

The gun fights were horribly thought out. And for those wondering why Boba stayed at the bar. The one Mod said it, she was staying in the city to fight. So Boba is too. It's show for the for the people, to show that he sorta kinda cares about them. Instead of running back to his palace and leaving them to the Pykes. Also it's the western trope of getting holed up in the saloon or jail with bad guys and his goons surrounding the place.

It was cool to see those Annihilator Droids from Legends.

Though their cannons should have blowing holes in wall, not just leaving pock marks.

Boba sending out that Major Domo with his "terms" was funny. And Boba and Din flying in shooting up everyone was awesome. The rancor was sweet.

But the best part was Cad Bane. I'm really hoping he's not dead.

Grogu, is getting to be a little stinker. What happens when Din tells him no and Grogu gets made and chokes out Din or throws him across the room? A toddler with the Force is a frightening prospect.

Yeah and Boba says he's not cut out for this. I smell someone else maybe wanting to join in the reconquest of Mandalore. Cobb Vanth is totally going to take over, on Tatooine.

All in all, such a strange show. It's weird. It really didn't do anything for larger story, unless the Pykes or larger criminal syndicates are going to show up for revenge later. This story, with the exception of Din and Grogu's side story has no bearing on anything else. And feel like they really wanted to lean into Boba the clone of Jango Fett, who's never really had a choice of who he is, but all of that disappeared. Maybe the show was originally meant to have more episodes? I have to admit, it's production started about the worst time possible.

Speaking of "old age", when Bane told Boba "you're getting soft in your old age", I thought to myself, is early-40s considered old age now?
People do say that ironically. Fairly often, in fact. It doesn't mean they're really trying to say Boba is older than we think, or that they don't actually know how old he is. Bane was intimating that Boba is old at a young age -- washed up.

Where the hell did Boba take the gaffi stick out from? His a$$?

Also, what the **** was with that medieval minstrel music at the end when they were walking through the street? Is Boba some sort of English lord that just saved his little hamlet from marauding Vikings?
Thought the same thing about the music. Really didn’t sit well.
