The Book of Boba Fett

I kind of respect both world though.. cgi we couldn’t have a lot to what we have today

But all the hand man stuff is incredible.. I love practical effects because it’s almost like watching a magic show for me..

I wonder how they made it happen, how they mechanically pulled it off..

I respect cgi, I live for practical.. but if I was totally anti cgi we wouldn’t have stuff like Jurassic park

Over use of cgi, I’m totally with ya on that.. but just enough is perfect

Kind of like chocolate bars.. if you had that and only that to eat every day you’d get tired of it.. limiting it for yourself makes it worth it every time
Agreed- Jurassic Park is a wonderful combination of both. The practical Raptors in the kitchen scene were so incredible.

I still love the story of the T-Rex malfunctioning with all the water on set and scaring the crap out of every one, because of how awesomely life like it was!

Definitely agree that CGI works well when used well. You can't beat JP in my opinion....but I also wanted to be a paleontologist when I was a kid, and am a dino nut !

She was standing about 10 feet away from a bomb that was powerful enough to blow up the building. She’s gone.

Though I suppose they could pull a “Somehow, Garsa Fwip returned”
And she was roughly 3-4 feet from the table emplacement with the droid card dealer, so in theory, she could have dived for cover just before the bomb went off.

Doesn't mean she didn't take some serious damage though. I agree it's unlikely but I can hope.

It "seemed like" they were setting her character up for some greater purpose. We thought maybe the new mayor after Boba retires the current mayor.

They did invest a good chunk of time into her character, but I also think that was just to provide obvious (baseball bat upside the head level of obvious) motivation for Boba to kick @$$. He promised to protect her/her business and he failed due to a sneak attack.

Revenge is a dish best served hot. I mean with hot blaster fire.

Yeeahhh, I don't think Garsa is the big bad.

The obvious still being Crimson Dawn. But they might just pull a low level thing with it just being the Pykes. They are going full steam ahead with cameos though, so I'm not surprised if Qi'ra pops up.

I sure am hoping buddy.. I’d love to see her again

Yes lol the trex having seizures on set lol

One thing I feel ripped off on is the mayor…

So I thought they were setting the mayor up as the big bad guy.. and now he’s run away on vacation.. I feel like we won’t ever see him again..

To think all the detail that went into that puppet only to have that one scene..

Maybe they used the molds from dok ondar…

He's "on vacation." That's 'Star Wars' for 'He was a wuss, and ran for the hills so he didn't catch a blaster bolt to the face.' :D

Dok Ondar... wow, good call. Why not use the same molds? All the heavy lifting has already been done for you. Just need to work out the animatronics/puppetry, and I imagine part of that is already pre-designed as well, just need to fine tune it.

Same.

I think they had such good feedback from all the practical effects thus far, so they decided to continue. Prosthetic work isn't easy, and to have them make his face longer, it would have required robotic puppetry, leaving less room for a human performance underneath. I still think his menacing demeanor played the same.

The only thing they might have done was moved it down in post like they did with the Mouth of Sauron, but again, that's minor squabbles. I think they're really pushing the idea that these cartoons are exaggerated, obviously.

I can get over it, like I did for Ahsoka's montrals/lekku. I get why they did it in the long run. Shaak-Ti was such a minor character with far more background appearances. Like it's said in the newer art book; to have Ahsoka up front and doing so many stunts, the prosthetics would have looked too fake if they made them super long. And animating them would have looked even faker.

I'm for it. It gives makeup FX workers jobs. Thumbs up over here.
And if the BoBF version had been our “first” Cad Bane, and the CW version our “second”, we would have thought the first one was bad-ass, and then complained that the (later) CW version looked all weird.

Boba Fetts age… let’s address that for a second.
I have in my mind a very plausible theory. Jango wanted an unaltered one for himself. Ok great… clearly when we saw young Boba he was of proper age. But who is to say that technology actually worked? What if he hit a certain age and his genetics had a defect in it to speed up his age?
Not by a ton. But by enough. Or maybe he is 40 internally but not externally.

I don't think she's THE big bad, or necessarily a "bad" at all, but I think she's more than she seems. More than just the proprietress of the local saloon/casino, at any rate.

I agree it would be cool if Qi'ra pops up. That's a cameo that would actually fit BoBF's story and not feel gratuitous or like a detour.

The Kaminoans, master cloners, perfected age acceleration, but mucked up a straight 1:1 unaltered clone?

Yeah that’s the only reason I could come up with.. so much money to make these puppets to only use once

Then again look at frog lady.. when we saw her I said no way is she gone we’ll see her again, way too much money to create that for one episode

And then never seen again lol
