The Book of Boba Fett

I'm not sure I see where the contradiction or issue is? Present day Boba, in the Bacta tank, now knows the whole story, yes, however, Nomad Boba who just rescued Fennec did not know. He is thinking about, remembering, or dreaming about a time when he did not know. So, if Boba is remembering or dreaming about the past, it would not change the past. Let's say Din told him Vanth's story about getting the armor off the Jawas, so, Boba now realizes he came out in his armor and Jawas took it. So, when he thinks about that time, he now has the image in his head of him getting out wearing the armor. However, when he thinks back to first meeting up with Fennec, he didn't remember or know what happened, so in his memories he is still looking for it, because that is what happened.

Like I said, it's tricky because We're being given a 3rd person, cinematic, visual representation of Boba's dreams. They are balancing showing the audience what they know actually happened from Mando Season 2, with Boba's own experiences. Perhaps in Boba's "real" dream at that moment it is a blurry, hazy fog of blinding sun and strange eyes and hands running over him. But, it is kind of hard to get that experience across on the screen. Plus, that real confused memory might be the impetus of the Jawa eyes in his Vision quest. He remembers the Jawa eyes over him, but doesn't remember what they did.
i did say i was a bonehead right?...ugh , nevermind... i'm stupid...I suppose we will probably see him dream about "tracking Mando"in the next episode? seems like a logical course. thank you for your explanation

Shhh dont question it. Eat your slop

Maybe Bib is the one who whispered in Bobas ear how much Luke was worth to the Empire and thats why he flew over to the skiff
Oh god I better shut up before i go giving these clowns any ideas
I'm replying to your post, but not directing this specifically or only at you, BFS1, but not everyone considers it slop.

I mean, I get why folks might be unhappy if the story messes with their head Canon or what they imagined a story would be, but changing my name to George Lucas doesn't make me anymore qualified to say what Star Wars is or isn't.

This is a kid's franchise, & it just gets so tiresome to only hear the perspective of grownups that have forgotten that.

I'm seeing this show as throwing in some grown-up ideas, while still peppering in things that kids would think are cool or funny.

The scooter gang, the chasing the Droid around the kitchen, etc, are pure kid-service, plain & simple. The main story is showing, so far, 3 different ideas that were presented in the OT as completely one sided (based only on what was seen onscreen, as that seems to be the gold standard)...

-Tusken Raiders aren't just mindless savages

-Rancors aren't just mindless beasts

&

-Boba Fett isn't just a mindless, mute, BA, gun for hire

All 3 have agency & stories that someone wanted to tell, so I want to hear them.

OK so...
Once you get past that first opening scene which kinda drags... Did they Actually call it the Mod Shop lol.. obviously meaning modifications but I kept thinking of our Thread.Tge Tech scene was far too long but did link how Fennec got her groove back
Oh then a odd Benny Hill scene in a kitchen it starts to settle down and kick in..
I enjoyed the taking of Slave1..

There was certainly some Story telling and bringing it All together and is starting to make sense..they could have done All this though in Ep1.
I lol at Boba saying Don't touch my buttons..not sure why ?

Slave1 gunning down those desperado was Very cinematic and gave me shivers..
It was great to see The Sarlaac and Slave1 looked Awesome hovering over its mouth.

Madam Garsa
Hubba Hubba!
I think she's possibly in on The Bigger Picture and she gave off a Leia vibe in that part of the show

BK oh BK how we wanted to see you loose your ****!

I prolly missed loads out so going for a re watch but to summarise..

Started out like an episode of The Muppets.. crazy!

Ended up.. Madam Garsa want my Babies ?

Ya know, I never really considered it, but it would be interesting if that one character was the TRUE power in Mo's Espa.

Likewise im quoting you, but not directing this specifically at you....
When did it become ok to dumb down media "meant for kids"?? This has been an increasingly and extremely 'grasping at straws', if not insulting excuse I find the more i hear it, and its one almost exclusively used with StarWars. One that makes sense in Veneer only, but when actually examined on its merits turns out to be cheaply thrown together...

"Kids media" when I was a kid in the 90's didn't treat me like I was a ******* gleeful idiot.. We had some truly dark stories with equally dark themes thought them. (Dark Crystal.. Never Ending Story... ).. So when exactly did this transition for idiotic "Kids media" come about if not a piss poor excuse deliberately pushed by corporations poorly executing the endeavors they wish to capitalize on and likewise through manipulating fans who will just gobble anything with a 'brandlabel' of the thing they've loved decades before the new owners were even involved

Its a bit like if your favorite restaurant were to get bought out, and the new owners started swapping out the quality of the ingredients in your favorite dish, along with its size... It just never tastes quite as good as you remember it once they do... Do you tell them? Or do you pat them on the back and say "well you tried.. so I guess thats good enough" ?

It was awfully nice of the Gang to stay together in a tight group the entire time rather than.. ya know... scattering... taking any sort of evasive maneuver of the slightest...

The big issue we have is the Pacing of the show. The Main players involved are all except Filoni used to working in a Film environment with 90 + minutes to tell their story. 46 mins or less taking 2 minute flashback opening title and end credits knocks off a small chunk of story telling too..
It must be bloody hard work to squeeze what should be an hour show down to such a small running time..

I certainly got a lot more out of this Ep than the others...
Lasers!..we finally got Lasers!.. oh and some cool Slave1 set pieces which to me rival the chase in AOTC

I think you both are right.

This show is not intended for us. At least, not exclusively for us. We have to accept that there is a whole other audience they are appealing to, an audience that doesn't have 40 years of head-canon setting unreasonable expectations. This show had to appeal to others beyond us - others who couldn't care less what Boba's ship was called back in the '80's or how much better they liked Jason Wingreen's read of Boba's lines vs. Tem's - if it was going to be successful.

That said, appealing to kids doesn't excuse poor pacing, inconsistent or jumbled continuity or gaps in logic within the story itself. It's not a binary choice. You can have a story that appeals to kids but still makes sense to adults. Not every superfan nerd quibble has to be called out, but when you find yourself saying multiple times "Wait - that doesn't make any sense" on the story's own terms, that's an issue.

I am enjoying the show. It's not Shakespeare, but it's not supposed to be and it doesn't even have to try. But as I said earlier, it feels like they are rushing to get to story beats and as a result, cutting corners in terms of story pacing and character development.

We really need longer episodes and/or more episodes. It feels like they are trying to shove a 10-lb. sausage into a 5-lb. skin sometimes.

You're right about media aimed at kids having some dark themes, & for the sake of argument, I'll keep it to OTSW, but even in that, with themes of pure evil wanting to rule, patricide, betrayal of friends & family, one has to admit that there are things in there that would make one roll their eyes today without that memories or nostalgia that's ingrained with it in our minds.

If you just take the scene in TESB, after Luke comes out of the bacta tank. It's one of my favorite scenes, but, from the lines, to the way they were overacted, I don't think it would hold up today if it were fresh, but I saw it when I was 9 or 10, & was quoting it non-stop.

I agree with what you said about the restaurant analogy, but I see it differently...

If I grow up, eating & loving McDonald's, but then I go to college. I move back home & head back to my favorite McDonald's, but now I notice that there's a playground that's not built for me anymore. The cheeseburgers use processed cheese & only have ketchup, minced onions, & a sad pickle, & their mascot is a clown. I really like eating here, I have very fond memories of it, but I'm a grown-up now. Therefore, let's either teardown the playground or make it adult sized, let's get some Vermont cheddar & Angus beef up in here, & get to slicing some REAL onions for my burger.

I guess the main point is this, if you insist on going to McDonald's, there's plenty for an adult to buy & enjoy, but don't keep going back just to demand that Happy Meals get taken off the menu just because you don't order them anymore.

I agree to a point regarding the episodes pacing & length, but I told myself that this is INDEED chapters in an overall story. We're so used to traditional TV, where every episode had to tell a act story. If it didn't, ratings would fall & there's a chance of cancellation. These D+ shows, including the MARVEL ones, sometimes so away with that to use an episode to just give another piece of the puzzle. That's just how I'm personally looking at them, with the idea that I'll judge the whole.

Most people wouldn’t compare the OT to McDonalds, though…feels kind of insulting and doesn’t really encompass the films in the analogy.
I wasn't really meaning to demean the OT, if that's what I did, by comparing it's quality to the quality of food at McDonald's. It was more about the institution that has survived by years mainly because of its appeal to a younger demographic.
