The Vespa gang didn't feel SW to me. Neither did many aspects of the PT. When I watched the BOBF ep. 3 I wasn't reminded of American Graffiti or George Lucas' love for hot rods (although I'm very familiar with both) or even the PT. I immediately thought "how completely out of place,"" this doesn't feel like Star Wars" and I thought of cheap recycled sci-fi that could've been in hordes of other universes. No offense to those who enjoyed it.

Not liking something in the SW universe and it not feeling like Star Wars aren't always the same. Pod racing and Naboo never felt SW at all to me, but I enjoy them.

I get what this guy is going for that we should be cool with opposing opinions and not be obnoxious about disagreeing which is fine but leave it at that. Don't present what feels SW and what doesn't as fact, it's subjective.

The thing is “Slave” doesn’t necessarily have to have a negative connotation. What if Slave I was just one of several like patrol ships (Slave II, Slave III, etc) that were somehow slaved to a master/control ship once upon a time. I am thinking more of a technical usage of the term rather than a reference to human bondage. That seems like that would be a viable and inoffensive explanation they could use.

Won't work, people are already removing the slave/master terminology from computer jargon as well. Same with Primary rather than Master bedroom.

That was kind of his point, some people like stuff, others dont, its subjective.
Yes but he also made the point that the Vespa Gang is reminiscent of the PT and Lucas' love for hot rods. Therefore it is very SW. So those who disagree are doing so because they don't like it, not because it isn't SW or doesn't feel SW to them. A point which is entirely subjective but not presented as such.
