The Book of Boba Fett

I get what everyone is saying as far as 'consistency' between details, & although I'm enough of a Fett fan to have my prosthetic leg made in a Boba Fett theme, I am NOT an expert between all the differences from film to film or even shot to shot. I have read through several threads on here & TDH about the 'inconsistencies' in the suits & armor, & can even spot some of them myself.

All that being said, in my opinion alone, there's not one thing that had an effect on the story or my enjoyment of Fett in any of the episodes he appeared in. I honestly couldn't give 2 formications if his armor has rounded edges, 14 dents instead of 16, or is a shade lighter in daylight shots. I'm just glad to be getting more stories with Fett. I'm happy Morrison is going to be able to be involved, & although I have a TON I'd like to see, like maybe Daniel Logan in a flashback, I'm not going to let my expectations ruin it before I see it.
If it airs & sucks, I'll say so.

I know some will say that my attitude is the reason DISNEY puts out crap, because folks like me will accept ANYTHING, but just remember, the $5 check they send me to be a shill pays my $4 membership here, so, it's like the circle of life IMO.

Part of the mythos of Mandalorians in general is the secret and mystery of who they are. Once the helmet comes off, I’m like…Meh.

It’s like Guinan from TNG, she was mysterious and cool, but once we found out her species, she was just another character...

i think this is the reason why i can get emotionally involved in the mandalorian.. there is no facial expressions, most of his dialog and dry.. before mando was even announced and the rumors of a fett movie was circling around i always said how the hell are they going to do this with out showing his face...

i dont know why but for some odd reason i can emotionally invest in vader.. i dont get why i cant with mando?

maybe because of that little green frog he carries around...

A lack of attention to detail in something truly basic, can be a red flag of lack of attention to detail in other areas. That's really all it is, well for me. But for all I know they're stunt versions or serve specific purposes that require aesthetic alterations. The inconsistencies are just enough to raise an eyebrow, question and joke about, not enough to entirely dismiss the show or its potential to be enjoyable.

I hope this series is exactly what Disney is promoting it to be….a series whose main character spends most of his time posing in a chair…

If this ends up being a series where Boba only occasionally poses in a chair, I shall be very disappointed, indeed.

Some tribes follow the traditional code more than others. Jango was a foundling and used the skills, he wore his helmet in battle but was also a businessman who interacted with politicians. Jango was taken in by Mandos, Boba was rasied from birth in the ways Jango was taught. So Boba never really had a tribe, never followed any ancient code besides his father's. Boba isnt an official Mandalorian and so he goes by his own code and honor. They finally made it canon in Mando S2 when Bo Katan tells him "you're no real Mandalorian" in which he replies "I mever said i was"

For me, Fett’s armor differences themselves are par for the course from a production standpoint. His armor has been in flux right from the beginning. In the details, the armor was quite a bit different even from TESB to ROTJ. The weathering, the color of his cape, his gauntlets, and even his helmet were all different, not to mention the paint schemes and color palatte across the board are different as well. A more striking, but not exclusive, example of color change is his jetpack. It went from being almost totally solid green in TESB to bright blue, white, yellow and red in ROTJ. So the lack of attention to continuity detail from a production standpoint is nothing new at all with Fett. It was “close enough” and that was apparently deemed “good enough”. Your average Joe Blow likely never noticed.

In my own head canon, with all the TESB/ROTJ costume differences adding up, I always thought they could plausibly say canonically that the guy in ROTJ wasn’t actually Fett at all, if they really wanted to go that retcon route. Maybe it was just a flirtatious, cocky buffoon (Jodo Kast?), macking on Jabba’s harem and carelessly going toe to toe with a Jedi and getting himself tossed into the Sarlacc in the process. That guy is dead but the real Boba Fett, the guy seen in TESB, was still out there somewhere. Obviously they didn’t go that route but the costume differences were plentiful enough that they could have, imo…

IMHO the new IRONHEAD helmet looks like a mix of the HASBRO Mando helmet and the ILM ROTJ Stunt helmet.

I like the design and can’t wait for the show to start.

Still cannot believe that we are about to get a full show about Boba Fett. So cool.

It may just be the angle but another difference I noticed is that the inner cheeks almost seems to have a bit of an angular “point” to them like Mando’s helmet has.
