The Book of Boba Fett

At the time I just assumed it meant Fett had never liked him and he could now get rid of him with impunity. The fact Bib was alive at all is still a little silly to me. He was definitely on the sail barge.
You are right. (y) My bad. He *was* there.

But so was Max Rebo. So is that Max Rebo we see in the Sanctuary or another Ortolan musician?

And if Bib and Max survived, I wonder who else did.

What’s the timeline for things popping off in the sailbarge vs the actual destruction? Couldn’t a group of survivors have bolted at the first sign of danger? Jumped in some skiff or lifeboat

Yeah those are plot holes currently that don’t have answers that I’m aware of. I guess they could’ve jumped off the other side of the barge but how they ever survived the desert is another question. Maybe our happy band of Tuskens picked them up too! If there had been evidence in RoTJ that Jabba's henchmen were literally jumping ship and running away, I could more buy that Bib, Max, etc could've been among them.

I would assume that there were plenty of staff left at the palace. If they got a distress call from the Khetanna (or someone on it), or sensors/alarms were otherwise blaring, perhaps they sent out rescue skiffs in short order.

My goodness, we are on page 57 (it was 56 two minutes ago) of a thread regarding a show with two episodes. This is an amazing series if it has fostered this much discussion. To review, we have bantered (Banthad?) on about the Hutts, Tusken tribes and fashion,Visionquests, psychedelic lizards, gaffi sticks, Lawrence of Arabia, the deleted Luke and Biggs scene, Slave 1, Bib, the Mayor, Jabba’s band, palace and garage, Fennec, sail barges, McQuarrie, Jennifer Beals, a little bit about Boba Fett plus many other topics to numerous to mention. Holy cow!

Maybe? All unknowns at this point. We may never know for sure, unless the show decides to delve into it.

As for Bib, maybe the Pykes were delivering spice to Bib's court. If the syndicate and Bib are fuming over their lost shipment, they could decide to wipe out Fett's tribe. That could be plenty of motivation for Fett right there. Bib almost certainly wouldn't even know Fett was among them thus his surprise could be genuine (orrrrrr he thought he had been killed along with everyone else).

Yes, I think you are probably very close to the mark. The Pykes played Bib (or vice-versa) into wiping out the Tuskens.

But what was that logo that those dudes spray painted on the moisture farmer’s house? Another player?

To your point squirk The Tusken female(whoever she is) is pretty cool. But you made me think...One of my favorite characters on Mandalorian was the Armorer...i want to know more..i just wanted to see her kick butt too....we should compare their fighting styles

Halliwax " Jennifer Beals? Where?" ( Squirrel!!!) Lol

On the subject of what Sand People look like. I guessing they are fair, maybe somewhat aquatic like. Hence they to need to be completely wrapped up, which not even humans or other species need to be.
That would make a lot of sense considering Tatooine used to have vast oceans. If they were native to the land, being aquatic makes sense and wrapping up would be a logical reaction to the sun. Their speech also sounds like something struggling for air, which fits for aquatic species living on land.

One thing I just noticed:

Is it just me, or does it kinda seem like Boba is only interested in Jabba’s holdings on Tatooine, particularly Mos Espa - i.e., he’s not interested in the off-world stuff?

Even if Jabba chose to live on Tat, I would assume he has hold over systems far more valuable and important than Tatooine. Why does he introduce himself to the Twins as daimyo of just Mos Espa? Why is Boba so focused on this jerkwater city on this jerkwater planet?

Is his power-grab actually more about protecting the more peaceful tribes of Tatooine?

I took the considerable wrappings and breathing gear of Tuskens to have less to do with anatomy and more to do with them being rigged to be able to survive in the harshest conditions Tatooine has to offer with minimal shelter, that we've really never seen in the movies. Maybe there are sandstorms that can last for days or weeks, that sandpeople can navigate or endure with relative ease. We've mostly only ever seen fair weather in the movies and shows but maybe there's some really gnarly conditions out there that could kill a human but not phase a Tusken.

What's also odd is that he is referred to as a daimyo at all. Historically a daimyo answered to a shogun, which could imply there is someone that Boba answers to although the show has not touched on that at all.

Yes, I noticed that, too. Is there a “shogun” to whom Boba would be willing to answer? Or did the showrunners just use “daimyo” because it sounded cool?

Haha I honestly wondered the same thing. As far as I know, daimyo had not been used in a SW context until this show. I don't know of Jabba ever being referred to as a daimyo.
