The Book of Boba Fett

I honestly still haven’t fully warmed up to his new look. I was also sad when the armor got fresh paint. I much preferred the gnarly, heavily weathered look the armor briefly had in Mando season 2. Fett didn’t strike me as the type to care too much what the armor looked like. I know people claim it symbolizes “a new beginning” for him and all that but meh…
Nothing feels more contrary to the Star Wars production design than fresh paint. Loved the look when Cobb Vanth was in the armor

As I mentioned before in this particular thread; as soon as you remove the helmet, as soon as you remove the mystery about the character...ditto for Fennec:devil: Why, oh why do writers think it's a good thing to show the faces of the actor? Unless you showed up with your face showing from the get-go, then it's fine. To all helmeted characters: keep your lid on:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Honestly Disney has surprised me in their dedication to keeping Pedro’s helmet on. Once per season is a great achievement. Sad they wouldn’t commit for other characters

38 minutes to resolve & wrap all this up?

Hopefully this is a temporary time holder

But I’ve got to say it….

“I have a very bad feeling about this!”

They surely make use of a Jedi trick called "montage". But good to know it's in color. So if you see it in b/w something is wrong. Ah well. In a few days I know if I should throw my crystal ball against the wall.

Totally agreed. I suspect that at least in some cases, it’s the ego of the actors to want their glorious faces shown. As for whether or not this is something Tem insisted on, I dunno. He doesn’t really seem like the type and he’s even said he felt Fett had too much dialogue. He convinced them to give at least some of it to Ming-Na Wen.

It’s in color. Whew, crisis averted

Dude, you don't seem short sighted at all! I wasn't implying anything like that. I enjoy your posts. My apologies if it came across that way.
My friend, I did not convey my emotions properly- it was completely in jest! I should probably use emoji’s more but I’m old! I thoroughly enjoyed your post! I also appreciate your comment. I will be more careful about things I write in order to avoid things might be misconstrued in the future.
I really don’t take myself too seriously, BTW.

You know, there hasn’t really been any new major products to come out of this series either (other than possibly Bane.) I mean, this is Disney! This is what they do! Where’s the marketing effort people!
HASBRO only recently had the license renewed by Disney. Their products (figures, role play, vehicles, etc) have been super light, except for repaints. Prevailing theory is that they were holding everything off until the renewal was official.

That said, HASBRO is having their online Fan First Wednesday this week, 2/9, & folks are expecting some big picture plans & new merch reveals then.

We should do "The Book of The Sarlacc": Interviewer descending into it and asking questions to various people being digested by the beast:lol:

Reporter: Mr. Weequay, now that you've begun your thousand-year journey of torment, how are you feeling? What's going through your mind right now?

Weequay: AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHIAAAAIIIIIIGGHH!!!!!!!!

Reporter: Yes, of course, of course. Looking back on everything, are you happy with where you're at? Or what would you have done differently?

Weequay: AAAAAHHHHHHHHRRRRGGGAAAHHHHGGGRRRR!!!!!!

Reporter: Very good, excellent point. Thank you for spending a few minutes with us. Enjoy the rest of your day.

<turns to Nikto>

Reporter: And you, sir. What are your thoughts on how today turned out?

Nikto: EEEEEEIIIIIIIAAAAIIGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Reporter: That's brilliant. I never thought of it quite in that manner. Thank you for sharing.

And so it goes........

Then comes competing channel 73, 'with the only news hover copter in the city!'

I enjoyed episode 7 of BoBF, although it seemed like it was part of a completely different show - actually three shows (BoBF, Mando, and the Luke Academy (coming soon to Disney +) LOL)

I thought Luke looked awesome. I have always felt that people should not have to see their childhood heroes age or die. In others words, Peter Parker should be timelessly in his 20’s, Batman, Luke Skywalkers, etc should be as we meet them as kids. I know not everyone feels that way, but I just feel it’s sad to see our heroes ravaged by age or even killed and it does something to us as adults. We enjoy fictional characters because we can imagine ourselves as them and they are removed from the realities of our normal lives. Seeing Luke again like this, makes me remember the happiness of him as my hero as a kid. What he was in Episodes 7-9 didn’t make me happy or spark my younger self’s hero worship. Instead it reminded me that I am getting older.

Live action Cad Bane - awesome! I also admit, the edited video on here does look better, but I’ll take what we got. It still looks good...and really alien.

The BoBF has mostly been so/so. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not my favorite piece of Star Wars either.

In my ideal world: The Boba Fett series would have been RotJ-aged Boba with his helmet always on going after people who had wronged him. The Hutts, previous Bounty Hunters, and Han and Luke. Boba could make a comment that he leaves his helmet on because he’s disfigured from the Sarlack. Temuera Morrison could have done the voice, but use a different body actor. Why? Because I think a helmetless Temuera should be used for Captain Rex in the Ahsoka series. He has the build and the look (other than he needs a beard and maybe a little more age). That could have made a fun crossover with Temuera’s Rex encountering Boba and Boba having a digital face of him from AotC. I’d also love to have seen a Luke series with him and a new group of Rebels cleaning up remaining Imperials - a little bit like the old Marvel comics post-RotJ. IT could also involve him contemplating starting a school.

I’m happy with what we have gotten, but I’ve got to admit, BoBF isn’t up to the typical high level of Jon and Dave. I have enjoyed their more singular vision.

Oh, and cyborgs creep me out, so those Mods make me uncomfortable beyond belief. Also that Vespa chase felt straight out of a Spy Kids movie. Ugh!

its all about the merchandise... sells more toys i guess.. shame, this was the down fall of sony movies. they had more drive to sell toys then to write good movies

this past summer i went to a outside birthday party in a park in RI. there i met some new people, there was a woman there who worked in the office of hasbro and she said if it wasn't for star wars they would go under.

star wars, transformers... and there was one more.. but the top thing she mention was star wars. if they didn't get the license again she was staying they were planning on moving out of the offices in RI. and she was most likely going to be out of a job, she doesn't really follow the movies but her conversation ended "im very grateful for star wars because its allowed me to keep my job"

I'm a big Hasbro fan and collect TVC and Black Series figures. I understand the huge backlog of product being caused by the pandemic. I even understand the price increase for the product, everything is rising up in price due to the global issues. However, what I do not understand at all is their marketing strategy. The release dates of their products are all over the place. The latest Boba Fett figure can be pre-ordered NOW but it is scheduled for NEXT YEAR! That does not make any sense to me. They should set priorities, get their things together and flesh out THIS year first before even thinking to make everyone crazy for new things that won't be available in time. And I bet that those scheduled dates will be delayed in the end like the Razor Crest. I mean, what do they still have at their disposal to fill out all these shows this year when they have already revealed their plans for this year in mid 2021? If they continue like that they won't be able to keep up with their own plans.

im not a fan of hasbro anymore... their whole haslab program i think is the biggest joke going.. its a shame because i love their black series helmets.

but as for preordering or ordering from their website, im completely done with them... pandemic or not... when you preorder item that sells out in 10 minutes... and you see other people getting their product which was from 3rd party sites.. and you who order directly from hasbro has to wait 1 year to get to your door.. all set with them
