I enjoyed episode 7 of BoBF, although it seemed like it was part of a completely different show - actually three shows (BoBF, Mando, and the Luke Academy (coming soon to Disney +) LOL)
I thought Luke looked awesome. I have always felt that people should not have to see their childhood heroes age or die. In others words, Peter Parker should be timelessly in his 20’s, Batman, Luke Skywalkers, etc should be as we meet them as kids. I know not everyone feels that way, but I just feel it’s sad to see our heroes ravaged by age or even killed and it does something to us as adults. We enjoy fictional characters because we can imagine ourselves as them and they are removed from the realities of our normal lives. Seeing Luke again like this, makes me remember the happiness of him as my hero as a kid. What he was in Episodes 7-9 didn’t make me happy or spark my younger self’s hero worship. Instead it reminded me that I am getting older.
Live action Cad Bane - awesome! I also admit, the edited video on here does look better, but I’ll take what we got. It still looks good...and really alien.
The BoBF has mostly been so/so. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not my favorite piece of Star Wars either.
In my ideal world: The Boba Fett series would have been RotJ-aged Boba with his helmet always on going after people who had wronged him. The Hutts, previous Bounty Hunters, and Han and Luke. Boba could make a comment that he leaves his helmet on because he’s disfigured from the Sarlack. Temuera Morrison could have done the voice, but use a different body actor. Why? Because I think a helmetless Temuera should be used for Captain Rex in the Ahsoka series. He has the build and the look (other than he needs a beard and maybe a little more age). That could have made a fun crossover with Temuera’s Rex encountering Boba and Boba having a digital face of him from AotC. I’d also love to have seen a Luke series with him and a new group of Rebels cleaning up remaining Imperials - a little bit like the old Marvel comics post-RotJ. IT could also involve him contemplating starting a school.
I’m happy with what we have gotten, but I’ve got to admit, BoBF isn’t up to the typical high level of Jon and Dave. I have enjoyed their more singular vision.
Oh, and cyborgs creep me out, so those Mods make me uncomfortable beyond belief. Also that Vespa chase felt straight out of a Spy Kids movie. Ugh!
