The Book of Boba Fett

I never understood this reaction. I still wanted the Razor Crest after it was destroyed and am counting the days until it arrives. If the Falcon was destroyed, which it needs to be, I would not want my Falcons any less. I love that ship so much, but gone it must be.

To each his own.

I am sorry if I was too brutal. I am working on that.
No, no. Your good. And it's probably just me. Maybe because I literally didn't grow up with it, that has a lot to do with.

Luke looked great. Wrong show.

Luke and Ashoka together. WTH!!!!!!!!! When did they meet? They must have had a lot to talk about considering they are two of the few who faced Vader and survived. Plus Luke thought the Jedi were all dead.

Love Grogu. Have many Grogu pieces. What are they gonna do with him. Him going off to Luke was perfect. What now? They wrote themselves into a corner.

Cade Bane-Cool

Boba seen for several seconds, in his own show!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'mon folks. This is nonsense. Four horrible, disgusting episodes destroying Boba Fet and then two Episodes of another show??????????????????????????????????????????????

Even though they get destroyed, people still buy it
Yeah -- I never understood why destroying a ship in a series suddenly seemed to change the perception of the vehicle for some people.

Viewer:
"Wow -- I love the imaginary spaceship on this show! I want a kit/a toy of it!"

LATER ...

Viewer:
"Oh, man! They pretended to destroy the imaginary spaceship I liked so much! Now I don't want a kit/a toy of it anymore!"

As for some complaints about Luke in this thread, lol, we scream we want our cake and eat it to, then Lucasfilm/Disney bring out said cake and we complain "this is not the cake we wanted!' Jeez, you can't please some folks.

This is like eating a wedding cake at a funeral though. The key is context. In a show called The Book of Boba Fett, Fett fans (presumably a sizable percentage of the prospective audience) wanted a show focused on Boba Fett, his adventures and the cool, badass stuff he does. The show turned out to not be that at all but to add insult to injury, they decide to dedicate entire episodes to people and things that barely have anything to do with Fett, if at all.

These last two episodes were great…but they should’ve logically been in season 3 of The Mandalorian. I frankly would’ve been just fine if a longer time had passed before we even saw Grogu again.

Well, here are my two cents. Loved the new episode. Luke looked amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do think that the heavy use of Luke in this episode is Disney testing the water to see if a Luke TV series is viable or desired. I can only assume/hope that we get he and Ahsoka's first meeting and discussions about Anakin in the Ahsoka series (fingers crossed).

I do hope that Grogu grabs both items and speaks again. I mean he can definitely understand it. I think he can speak, but due to past trauma, chooses not to. I mean, if you adjust the scale for his age as compared to human age, he'd be like 5 yrs old. Most 5 yrs old kids are speaking by then, somewhat lol.

I am pretty sure that Kob Vanth survived. He just took a shot to the shoulder, and as someone said, they though they heard a metallic ping when he got shot. May he was wearing some protection??? lol

I did notice that they made it pretty obvious that Droopy was not present in the bar scene. I was just starting to like that flashy Twileek owner. Again, I think we will be surprised that she somehow survived.

Can't wait until next week's episode.
Exactly...I've held my peace waiting for someone else to say it because i'm so iritated at the hypocrisy. We fans always want our cake and eat it too...that's why people want Grogu to take both. Sorry, life is full of choices and we all don't get to have what we want like like spoiled brats. Mando was given a choice. He made his choice, now he has to live with it. Stop criticizing dogmas when people have the choice to receive it or reject it...no one is forcing anyone's hand here. Mando chose Grogu over self...He is selfless even though he really wanted to see him. Grogu is still a child. You expect him to make a childish choice. Grogu reminds me of Anakin more than Yoda. He chose to become a Jedi by permission from Mando. Anakin chose to go with Qui-gon and leave his mother. The Chain mail just has my head scratching...not effective against a blaster...nor a lightsaber because he can still be burned. Grogu is a Force user...He is a Jedi...clearly. Mando spent a whole 2 seasons getting him to Luke ...to undercut that now just because they love each other is just silly. I get it...trust me. Everytime i leave my kid behind and have to go to work i feel the heart tug...but i know as a father i have to teach my son how to be a man. That IS LOVE!!! Love isn't just the warm fuzzies and "i miss you". Love is demonstrated in actions and choice...even disallowing choice at times knowing the nature of a child to willingly choose things that will put them in danger. Any child you lay down green beans and a chocolate bar, which will they choose? The short term gratification or long term health? Mando made the adult decision. Luke is trying to discern if Grogu will finish what he starts...if he really has made a choice in his heart to follow the training. So...NO...I do NOT want him to choose Both. Does he need either one? Nope , but the lightsaber is a Jedi weapon and is an extention of the force user. Grogu is not a mandalorian.

This choice is NOT about creeds at all. It's a choice about , "are you willing to give in to your emotional, temporal desire in exchange for what you can accomplish long term through patience? Luke thinks Grogu is too focused on 1 frog(DIn Djarin)...He needs to expand himself to understand his life is about more than just 1 person. Luke knows this all too well. He knows his father died and now he must accept that reality and use what he's learned to protect and influence others. He's trying to show Grogu that he is most definitely going to out live his "Daddy". Doesn't mean he has to forget him or never see him again...just needs to focus on the trial at hand. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day...teach a man to fish , he eats for a lifetime. To me, the chain mail is just impractical and stupid...I hope he force melts it into a beskar ball or something. As far as Yoda's lightsaber goes? Is Yoda his father? IDK. That is the only thing that would make sense to why a New Jedi Master would hand over a saber and not see if he can build one on his own...like what happened to Luke himself. I would rather have him either reject both and go and make his own lightsaber.

BUT....I can picture Grogu levitating both in the air in front of Luke and deconstructing both items and reconfiguring both to converge into a Beskar/Yoda mashup lightsaber...like this pic...i can only guess which way the writers will tell this.

Anyone feel the Grogu-in-action scenes would have been better if it were CGI? For close up shots with the usual cute facial expressions and head tilts and raised hands, the puppet is ok but when it comes to actual movement, it looked unrealistic. Perhaps Frank Oz would have been able to elicit a more realistic performance.

Sorry. I have just had it with Star Wars. 23 years since The Phantom Crap and virtually nothing has been good and most of the stuff has destroyed the OT.

I don't want to be all negative. Said my peace. :(
I'm with you there. I enjoyed the actual STORY of the prequels but the execution was terrible. Like so many new planets, characters and lore was added but the writing was terrible, Jar Jar was unbearable and there was way too much GCI; none of it has aged well. At least there was a clear vision with the prequels.

The sequels are far worse imo; no vision, bastardisation of OT characters, everything about Rey, Finn after episode 7, crappy duels, space horses, woke, Holdo manoeuvre, Palpatine returning, marvel-style jokes, I could go on. Only thing decent I guess you could say are some of the visuals.

Only new movie I actually loved was Rogue One, masterpiece in my opinion. Much grittier, good characters with interesting motives and best 3rd act of any SW movie (If it weren't for Ewoks then ROTJ may be 1st). I would love to see a 15/R rated version of that or ANY SW war-style movie. Also the Vader scene - It all lead nicely into A New Hope.

Solo was meh, it's a very ok movie but I think the whole pitch meeting was just "lets show the Kessel run!".

Shows are fantastic (apart from the Boba episodes of BOBF).

I was almost done with SW as well but as soon as Mando hit, I became re-invested. I think the franchise went from critical life support after ep 9 to now in recovery. There are a lot of shows coming out so there is some stuff to look forward to. Don't loose faith my friend.

Ehhhh, I just don’t see any hypocrisy here. It’s not unreasonable for people to expect a show called The Book of Boba Fett to focus solely on Boba Fett.

Things like seeing Mando get a new ship or watching Luke train Grogu are lovely…but have absolutely nothing to do with Boba Fett and are wholely out of place in this context.

As for choices, I remember once upon a time, one of George’s ideas for a sequel trilogy would be to explore the shades of grey between the black and white. Moving beyond absolutes, it thematically could work if Grogu decides, why should he have to choose one or the other? Why can’t there be a happy median in between where he can play up the strengths of both? Something that had not happened in a millennia?

I frankly think he’ll choose the shirt but I think there is room to choose both if they wanted to explore that.

well...we haven't seen the Finale yet so how do you know it's out of context?

I definitely still love the Razor Crest. And it's not like it's the last of it's kind. He may eventually get another one for old times sake to have along side the N-1.

Suped up for the weekends, station wagon for the day to day.
Still very confused about the choice of giving him an N-1. Like don't get me wrong, I LOVE the N-1, it's my favourite Starfighter but that's just it, it's a Starfighter. No different to modern day jets, you would only specifically use something like that for combat and not personal use. Even if Mando suddenly made the choice to never do bounty hunting, he still had a place to sleep with the Razor crest, he could transport passengers, personal belongings, carry his armoury of weapons, use the toilet or even stand up. He wouldn't even be able to fit a long gun in the N-1, maybe some small crap behind him but nothing accessible during flight. Would expect something at least U-Wing size, there are ships that are both large, sleek and fast.

He was def a mix of CGI and puppetry for the rock leaping.

I actually really love the puppetry and find it to be adorable. Puppetry is almost a completely lost art nowadays (looking at you Netflix, for canceling Dark Crystal). Having tried my hand at it, it's just like any other art form and should be loved and appreciated for it's complexity.

But I did love so many films and tv shows from the 80's/early 90's that were completely puppeteered or stop motion. I'd take a real, tangible puppet over CGI any day.

Mando getting a new ship has zero bearing on Boba Fett. We didn’t need an entire episode plopped in Fett’s show depicting that. Nothing could happen in the finale to change that. As for Grogu, I suppose they could have him appear out of nowhere and save the day but they could just as easily not write that in. This should’ve been solely Boba’s story, not how he keeps getting rescued by others nor about the trials and tribulations of Grogu, Mando, Luke, etc etc

I'm confused...

SO... you want to explore the "grey" but you're complaining about why other characters story lines converge with anothers and it's out of context?
that's called hypocrisy

I mean, he wanted another RC, even was pretty ticked that Pelli didn't have one. As with most dudes with a sports car, the zoom zoom took over.:lol:

They totally did it for the cool factor, and a possible team up with Boba and The Ship That Shall Not Be Named.

I have a feeling it'll come to some full circle and he'll get a new RC with his new found Mandalore title. See, it's like a poem, it rhymes. :cautious:
(Don't get me wrong, I want this LOL...)
