Re: The Avengers Style Captain America Uniform W.I.P.

Major update: I tried on the blue pants, and they will NOT work for this costume. So I decided to change the design a bit. I also have some of the pouces done ready to be colored. And I added the shoulder pieces.

Seems a shame you put all this effort into a great looking, accurate top and you're not going to do the pants or cowl. What you have done looks great though :thumbsup

I know I should have done the pants and cowl, but I ran out of time and money to get it done by the Avengers. I will though afterwards add the pants and cowl. Thanks.

Here are the gloves colored, and left boot finished. Also the belt has some progress:

I am also making the color of the bottom of the boot black.

Here is a picture of Cap, Nick Fury, and Tony Stark with Iron Man gauntlet at the movie. The cap shirt got a little distorted after the movie when the picture was taken, it's not the costume faults, I just took the suit of before the movie and put it back on in a rush afterwards.

Does anyone know a good way to take hand drawn templates and make them digital? I know a lot of people here on the rpf want some templates from his build.

What did you use for the flap with the star that goes over the sternum? Did you use a pattern and cannibalize another shirt or just fabric? Did you insert anything into the flap to give it a bit more "sturdy" look.

Great Job!

Great Job!

I made a design out of 2mm foam sheets, the wrapped fabric around it tightly.

How did you make the star for the chest piece? Awesome work btw

I printed the template on card stock , folded it, did one-two coats of resin (didn't need that much because it was already smooth so no sanding was required) the primed it, painted, the attached to a foam 2d star underneath. Thanks
