The Avengers Style Captain America Uniform W.I.P. with Modern Soldier Twist

After doing Captain America TFA style uniform, I learned A LOT about costumes and props (thanks mostly to members on the RPF). Now I have decided to create a replica of the Avengers style Captain America costume. My plan is to use around 10-12 Compression shirts for material, and one of them as a base for the shirt. I have already started the star, and the template for the should pieces (I have no clue what they are so I just called them shoulder pieces, what I mean is the little metallic pieces on his shoulders.) Any thing that can not be found online or in stores I will custom make. So far the gloves, boots, pants, helmet, and unique design parts are in that list. Pics Soon!

Here is the star and the shoulder pieces, I made two of each, one for pepakura, and one for foam. At the end I will choose which one is better for the uniform. Note the star template is not mine but the shoulder one are.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to use raw fabric for the material instead of a bunch of compression shirts?

Yes, but I don't know how to use patterns to make original pieces for shirts, so I will be using one as a base, then use the other ones for the pouches, belt and pants so they are the same material. I know it sounds crazy but it will work.

I know it doesn't look like much but it will be. These are the foam pieces that will have red leather attached to for the glove cover.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

This update is not Part of the costume but is part of the character. I decided to take my TFA shield and change the battle damage to Avengers battle damage. I used purple paint to add the alien blood effect to the shield. Since I am making a better shield, I decided to make this one battle damage and save it for display. The one for this costume will be much different and have no damage.

Here is a comparison picture. Please remember this was a quick project and I did not worry about accuracy. Also the lighting from my picture makes it look bright but it is not.

I finally was able to find a shirt for a base. The picture makes the color look off but, the color is actually very accurate in real life. The picture I included is with some of the pieces laid out on top.

I was able to start the foam inserts for the stripes, I will then cover them with material and a zipper and designs. Here is a picture of them on the shirt to give an idea of what it is going to look like.

Here is some updates on the stripes, they still need material covering them and a zipper. Also I will be adding Velcro at the top to connect to he blue part.
