The Amazing Spiderman 2 costume build,

Alrighty so im a huge spiderman fan and since i was about 5 ive wanted to be him, this was my first ever start to a costume build, I've come a long way haha!

Okay so after spending a large amount of time deicing which file to go with i designed to get mine from Gunheaddesign.com but i had both the red and blue darkened and the muscle shading taken out since im trying to go for a movie accurate costume. in terms of printing im from the UK so Fabric on Demand wasnt ideal and after looking into a few places I went with a company called L&S prints and they were very helpful and pretty quick to deliver and today it arrived.

here it is in its packaging with some bird crap on the top so i was having my doubts but then i opened it up to reveal this beauty..

and im very happy with the print out, especially the red i think its spot on, as for the blue its so dark its almost black and there is a section here you can see the comparison

Ill be painting it metallic blue anyway so itll look blue in the end and the movie costume is rather dark anyway so im happy with it.

My next step is buying the paints and ill get started on painting and ill keep you updated with my progress.

i have roughly cut the print out so i can wash the fabric before i start painting which should be next week, thanks for the kind words guys!!

UPDATE!!!! very pic heavy aha

right so today i went shopping and found the paints i wanted at hobbycraft, i went for navy blue and slick black and bought all the ones i could which was 4 each and then when i got home found a huge pinboard in my shed, cleaned the dust and spiders off and lay it on an old bed sheet onto the table

then i pinned on my suit and began to paint

after painting these parts i remembered i had to wash it before painting so i washed on a setting called 'hand wash' at 30 degrees with a little bit of washing power and then had to wait for all that to be done and then had to dry it out using many heaters and turning my conservatory into a sauna haha! after a good couple hours i could begin painting again and i spent a good 4 hours and managed to do all the black web on the thumbs, hands, side of head, arms and back pieces as well as the blue lines on the back which really made the dark blue look a lot lighter and am looking forward to start blue painting tomorrow

I would leave the back spider for after its sewn. Cause then its easier for the seamstress and also u can paint its as a whole (u can paint over the sewing line)
