The Amazing Spider-man 2 - 3D Print Files/Pattern - FREE

Seeing as nobody has tried this before with this file, I decided to try this method for my second Spidey suit. I took Ken's free suit file (an amazing file by the way, thanks Ken) and split it up in different parts in the blue and red to have accurate seams like in the movie suit. Here are some samples:

and for the blue parts:

I plan on sending the blue file to a local printer and have them print the dark grey brick pattern on the blue lycra fabric which I will provide them. I will be freehanding the webbing on the red portions, and I might consider freehanding the brick pattern on the red if I do have the time to do it. I have also just sent my lens frames file to a 3d printer and will recieve them next week. I will be using magnets to attach them to the shell. For the face shell, I used an Iron Spider toy mask that I got from Toys R Us.

I was debating on choosing the Iron Spider mask or the regular Spidey mask. But I went ahead with Iron Spider since there was less work to do (like sanding down the webbing, etc.) I already cut air holes in the mouth and head area, plus I also cut a bit of the top off of the eye holes for better vision. The web shooters I will be using will be Ken's web shooters that I used on my previous Spidey suit.

Big thank you to Ken for giving us these amazing free files!

Hi ken, I repeatedly have been having problems printing the top of the faceshell. I have put it in netfabb to repair any issues it has but everything else print fine except for that piece where the holes are. the support material creates fine until it gets to that part and then it becomes very messy and thin (unuseable). any thoughts? this is the only file I have had issues printing. thanks

Invert the file so that it is upside down when it prints. You will use a crazy ton less support material and the top of the dome comes out just fine. If I have time I will take a pic of the faceshell dome I printed over the weekend.

How would I make the cup for the crotch area of the suit? I've seen people mention them on various build threads, but there was never any insight on how they were created.

HEY ken can a picture be usable as a pattern?

If by a picture, you mean a .jpeg file of the pattern Ken has provided, then yes it can be usable. But if you're talking about a picture like set photos of the TASM2 suit, then unfortunately no. Or at least it's gonna be a really complex process to flatten that out.

Hey Ken! So far, this is how my suit is turning out. :) I took your pattern, separated all the movie accurate seams, and printed those onto paper. And so far, this is how it looks like! I can't fit it, since those are only basting stitches and I have to send them to a tailor. So far, it's looking real good! I'm using a T-Zip system to get into the suit, meaning a separating shirt and pants section. Still have to do the other arm though. But so far, looking real good. :) Thank you for providing us with your glorious free files. :)

Use it without the need of downloading the pattern.

Unfortunately that's gonna be a big challenge. You can't print a picture of Andrew Garfield in the suit onto the fabric. If you're worried about the budget, you can do what I did on my first build. What I did here was I looked at heaps and heaps of pictures of the suit and drew the pattern onto long sleeved t-shirts. It wan't the most comfortable, since t-shirts don't stretch as much as spandex. You can check that out here: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit (No prints, 90% homemade)

Working on a bag design and would like some ideas and input. I do like the Web Backpacks (see below), but I want to do something new! This is what I have so far:

But I don't think it will go well with my TASM 2 suit as it stands now. Here are some quick ideas I threw together:

What do you guys think?

EDIT (photoshopped what it would look like):
