That's Lt. Masters from "The Alternative Factor." Curiously, although she is referred to as "Lieutenant" repeatedly, she wears an ensign's uniform, without a lieutenant's stripe.

Thanks for all the great caps of the TOS women, Karl. :eek

Thanks Tempo. :D

A couple more for the mix... Here's that tunic-and-pants outfit seen in Charlie X...

CharlieX_femaletunic.jpg

And of course Ensign No-Face. Brrrrr. :eek

Another yeoman wonders why Kirk always stands in that particular spot every time she's on duty... :rolleyes

DoomMach_yeoman.jpg

Oh and a couple more costume anomalies I forgot from before... here's Lt. Farrel with no badge.

MuddWomen_farrellnobadge.jpg

And Spock's gigantic ascot-collar from the first few episodes of the first season... that man has the warmest neck on the ship.

More great caps from phase pistol. :D

What do you suppose that shiny thing is on the upper left inside of her collar? Are we seeing the pull of the "invisible zipper"?

<div class='quotetop'>(phase pistol @ May 22 2006, 10:55 AM) </div>
Always liked this effect. Relatively simple makeup, but what an impact.

Rodd.com still shows the female pattern out of stock. Where'd you hear they had them again?

Yes I knew FJ and his daughter very well. I'm just wondering about the corectness of the pattern. It was drawn way befor DVD's and the kind of info we have now. What do you mean "extra seem dress"?

I think this is a reference to the style of uniform dress (discussed earlier in this thread) that had several diagonal seams on the front (rather than the standard single, vertical seam), which allowed for a more figure-fitting uniform.

{EDIT} Compare the various uniform dresses in Post #285 and you'll immediately see the variations in the number and distribution of seams.

I think that's called a "bra strap". :lol

And yeah, when I was a kid, I thought the no-face girl in "Charlie X" was just horrifying. You see her for just a few seconds, and she's moaning grotesquely... In fact she'd be DEAD before long, with no way to breathe... Yikes. :eek

They never got that "dark" again on TOS... too bad tho. It was very effective. :D

Anyway here's another prize from the files... well-lit Kirk braid from that first-season wraparound...

A what? :confused

Actually, "bra strap" was the first thing that occured to me... but I tried to go the high road with my "invisible zipper" theory. :p

If not for that little drawback, think how much time she'd save, not having to apply eyeliner and lipstick...

Ooooooooh. That's funny I always thought all of them were "extra seam" because that's the ones everybody made back in the day. I just thought you couldn't see them on TV. :D

Thanks.

Hey Guys,

Zipper shot.

Here is a shot of the tunic that GM and his partner made for me. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. The quality of the tunic is top notch, and the communication and turn around time was fantastic. If you are looking to get one made, I recommend GM as the place to go.

Since the uniforms for the ladies has been brought up, I thought I would show the most accurate one out there. :p

[image]http://38speedtwin.com/junk/sarahtrek.jpg[/image]

This is my 3 1/2 year old in a Ralph Lauren 4T dress that I had GM add the insignia and rank for me. She loves it. Probably her favorite gift from me, ever.

Oh, and yes the sandals are screen accurate :D

Wow, speed, beautiful tunic. Thanks for sharing that shot.

Your daughter is adorable. And she's already made lieutenant. I see a bright future for her among the stars. :)

GM, absolutely stellar work (no pun intended). I'll be placing an order for sure in the not-too-distant future. :love

Speedtwin, that's a great GM tunic. Let's see more pix. :D

Plus that's a great "dress" uniform your Lieutenant Daughter has. I see she is in the Engineering service... Is she upgrading that TV to "warp plasma"? :p

Great work all around. :D

I think the one you chose to use as a guide for the others was somewhat "atypical" of the design. i.e. perhaps a bit out of shape in that photo.

Well you know I wondered that myself... until I found this razor-sharp shot of Lt. Kevin Riley, from "Naked Time"...

Rileyvsscreenused.jpg

So I think that either proves the validity of the screenused patch, or else implies that the "screenused" is actually a fake, made from examination of the Riley closeup. :lol

Anyway... here's a nice shot of the Space Checkers game that we were talking about a few pages ago...

NakedTime_divisions_spacech.jpg

Also that's just about the lowest neckline on a female uniform you'll find... fits her very oddly too, very baggy... must have been experimental. Collar does not "swoop" like usual. But then this is a very early episode.

I bet this was a uniform originally tailored for another actress. Maybe they figured it would be onscreen so briefly here, it wasn't worth the expense of fitting it properly to the extra.

Could it originally have been the command uniform made for Uhura? With Nichelle Nichols's more prominent bust, the collar would not have appeared to be so low-cut.

IN teresting... Uhura is in her red dress by the time of that episode... so the command "mustard" dress would have been available. Plus she's got Lt. stripes, just like Uhura. I bet it is the same dress.

I tip my deerstalker to you sir. :D
