TGG's 1:1 Life Size Heath Ledger TDK Joker WIP

Hey guys.

First, I know for some of you, this is going to be like fingernails on a chalkboard, but I already had the Rubies costume since before the RPF and decided to use it to cut some corners. I am happy with it, so that is good.

I repainted the bust to my liking to reflect his makeup configuration during the interrogation scene (which changes from shot to shot I might add :lol. While not SA, he is holding a pencil and the Bank Heist Mask for effect (need a more natural way for him to hold the pencil). I haven't seen any other busts with teeth, does anyone know who made it? I bought it second hand, and it was sold to the previous owner as a blank pull.

My criticism: He is begging for some glass eyes some day and I am going to replace the shoes soon, so please excuse the stand-ins. Also, if you want to get technical, it appears (and in error with regard to continuity) that Heath's hair is shorter during those scenes. My lifesize's hair is the longer style we see for the rest of the film.

Finally, after uploading, I see his mouth can also use some work. The hair is both glued strands and a thinned out Rubies wig. The hairline resembles a toupie, but in person, its high enough not to notice. My self-critique aside, here he is. I hope you like it:

Re: Late to the TDK party: My 1:1 Heath Joker lifesize

Is it me or is his head too big for his body...who did the paint job?

Re: Late to the TDK party: My 1:1 Heath Joker lifesize

I have noticed that, should have mentioned it. The mannequin is pretty normal in size, so its just the head. A bit larger than lifesize I would say.

It came with a paint job which I tweaked myself.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

I recognize it from an artist I saw on ebay/deviantart - I tried to look him back up after I saw this but couldnt... he's made a lot of original 1:1's... dont remember his name though...

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

I would try and make your own duct tape mannequin or buy a bigger one, as they head being too large for it really does stand out. The teeth seem a little too yellow, maybe tone them down just a bit. Add some areas that are lighter, a little splotchy perhaps.

Overall, it's cool! Just those two things jumped out at me.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

Thanks for the comments. I thought the head was a tad big at the time, but I really see it now. :$

The Mannequin is around 6 feet already and I am afraid a bigger mannequin will lead to a giant Ledger.

I am also not sure filling out the body will improve anything, as I just think its a scale issue. Oh well...

Thanks for all the comments, I like reading the critiques.

The teeth could be lighter. If you look at my first reference pic, that's what I was going for.

EDIT: I used the Rubies Jacket for a close enough Nicholson bust I made (Blasphemy I know-And that bust has issues too :lol) but looking at the inspiration pics, a jacket with some shoulder pads MIGHT help a lot.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

Wow, that's...uhh..scary looking. :eek

Kinda reminds me of the puppet from the Saw movies for some reason. Still a good paint job though. :thumbsup

He reminds me of the Saw Puppet. However I really do appreciate the artistic flair. It looks like some work went into this, I would have to say I like it.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

I think you could probably just get away with padding out the body a bit. I don't think you need a whole new one.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker

I just swapped the first picS for (I think) a more flattering one.

Scary....
Put that thing by your door when you leave on a vacation. Anyone tries to break in will certainly **** thier pants!:lol

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker WIP

Ha, funny you should say it. I flinched 5 times today! Its involuntary. I am not used to 1:1s around, and everytime I catch him in the corner of my eye a certain way, I jump ha.

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker WIP

Just as a gag, before you go to bed one night, have it looking out of the curtains of your home.
That should keep any would-be thieves and nosy neighbors away!

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker WIP

Well it has been a while, but after a recent Batman marathon, I figured it was about time my Heath Joker was revisited. While I might replace him someday with a better head, I am really happy with how the changes came out.

Here is what it looked like:

Re: 1:1 Heath Joker WIP

I owe a special thank you to member Haywire for his advice on gluing the hair and the tips he provided by PM.

I plan on slowly replacing all the clothes items for Magnoli/more accurate pieces. I could tweak the paint job, but to be honest, I am pretty happy with how it came out.

I will post some progress pics.
