I've just received an email from Parks with pictures of what the new FX saber looks like and telling me he's out of stock for the old version of the GRAFLEX. The problem is that I am out of a computer 'till next monday. Do anyone want me to send him the email so he can upload the pictures here? Chaim?

I see a lot of you are going crazy for a Graflex right now because it's in the new movie. However I have a feeling that saber is going to Leia, who is a woman and that most of you in this thread are guys. So are all of you men cosplaying as Leia for the movie premiere? ;)

We do not discuss costuming, we discuss (and build) replicas. Also, some of us do costuming.

I won't lie, I couldn't care less about them working on a camera, I just want screen accuracy!

I'm going to order an ESB kit from Roy over the weekend.

This way I won't have to deal with any stock issues when the rush comes in whenever Romans hilts drop.

And here is my version of how Vader got to wield that saber in ROTJ ... written not so long time ago in another thread :

'... Darth/Anakin used to be so fond of his very first self-build lightsaber (ROTS), that when to his surprise he 'found' it back again albeit in his son's hands (ESB), he somehow had to get it back in his grasp, no matter what, ... thus slicing of his son's arm.

Alas with the hand also went the lightsaber ... down the shaft and possibly lost via the shute into the venomous gasses of Bespin . . . gone forever . . . were it not for a flaw in the main design of the Tibanna gasmine complex at Cloud City and of course for one hardworking Ughnaught on maintenance duty at the very bottom of the other shute, opposed to the one Luke vanished in.

So when presented with the lightsaber again Darth immediately ripped out the artificial red crystal of his old 'MPP' based lightsaber and used it to replace the aquamarine crystal in the 'graflex' based lightsaber, thus turning the yet once honorable lightsaber to the Dark Side and thus becoming even more powerful then even Darth could imagine . . . in ROTJ'

I think it would be great if at some point in this next flick or 2, that someone twists that graflex open to reveal a crystal core...

People have been making them for years, having a definitive on-screen crystal-core would be great.

Was just a warning for others. I actually meant to post in cnccus' thread about his run in with a seller on ebay who passed a Parks off as a real graflex. Post was moved into that thread thanks!

Has anyone mentioned the fact the control box is is now on the opposite side of the saber (like the old icons ANH replica)? I didn't see it anywhere in the thread.

If I'm not mistaken, the clamp seems to be in the correct ESB position.

So I just wondered what would have gone through Carrie Fisher's mind on set . . . when she received that lightsaber in that particular scene? Assuming of course that it is Princess Leia receiving it. My thoughts were . . . she figured : 'I'll play that scene as if someone is handing me a nice bottle of Scotch.'
