You and me both, friend! I'm dying to get my hands on a good MPP replica.

This thread makes me all the more happier that I got my Graflex when I did, which was a steal considering what these are going for now (albeit, mine is a tad worn). Also, much love to Roy and Sym-cha for making the possibility of owning accurate replicas into an affordable reality. Ya'll the best!:cool

I remember, years ago, making a Luke ESB and needing a second button, so I just shrugged and bought a beater Graflex simply for the red button. It seems so extravagant now...just casually buying a parts Graflex for less than a hundred bucks. Those days are over!

Seriously! At one point I had 3 graflexes and had a hard time selling them for over $100.

I'd never have the nerve to gut one and cut one for a Vader ROTJ now either! A few years ago I just held my breath and started drilling. But I wouldn't have the stones at 4 or 500 bucks! :lol

I bought a parts lot that had a graflex top with the ears already bent for Vader rotj... but the guts were half missing... that's the only reason I may be ROTJ-ing it.

I'm such a big nerd for that saber, that should ROMAN do a Graflex, and Roy and Chaim put together a set for it, I would consider making yet ANOTHER... but a right off of the line as first built version....

Bending those ears down is SCARY. But hey Roman, I bet if you wanted to offer things like pre-drilled ESB bottoms and pre-drilled DV ROTJ units/ROTJ parts, there might be a market...

EXACTLY what I was going to PM him, or wait for more infor, but as about...

The biggest pain I have is getting the countersunk holes drilled right.

Heck I would send him my top just to have it done finally... (my buddy in Seattle is dragging his heals...)

I did all my holes undersized with a hand drill and finished them one by one with a file so the allen bolts fit as perfectly as I could make them. It was...painstaking. Never again. I'll buy a damn drill press/step bit first!

The problem with mass producing them I guess is that I'm one of those folks who likes his DV ROTJ idealized. The uneven bolts make me bonkers. I've done both (I've had several, including the MR) and the off kilter bolts make me nuts. I know most around here want uber screen accurate though, and I get that.

I'm happy to own 2 original mint Graflex which I paid under $100 years ago :D nothing replaces the real deal!!!

I have 1 complete near mint graflex. And another original top... Wish I wouldve jumped on about 2 and a half more in the last few years!!!! DOH!!!

I knew I still had one complete Graflex (the one I got from the flea market for $25) but I was going through my parts bin and found an original Graflex clamp and bottom tube I forgot I had.

I've been thinking of converting my 'Skywalker Ranch' ESB saber as it's my least favorite of the Graflex sabers. I might just pull the top off the SR saber and pair it up with the extra clamp and bottom to make another complete Graflex. Once we get more details about the EP7 saber I can add grips and a dring.

Oh and I still have a Larbel Graflex but those things are terrible.
