I know what you mean. How the heck am I suppose to know a lawn gnome was in "Amélie" when I haven't seen nor heard of it?

89 / 14.. Yeah some were definitely out there and weird, but using strategic hangman tactics was able to get most of them.. Got to 103 and was thinking how many are there when it stopped..

90/10. The ones I missed were from films I've never seen. To be fair, there was a lot of repetition; I got one film three times in a row. :unsure

81/22. I'm a film student and of the ones I missed about 15 of them are movies I haven't seen but should have, according to all my professors.

I guess that silhouette of a Western Meerkat has been in more films than I have ever seen... :lol

Yes, I am a film buff, and no, I haven't heard of "Amelie." Besides, looking at the year it came out (going by the IMDb), I was in high school, so that's probably why I didn't get a chance to hear about it or see it. I was living in a small town where DVDs of foreign films were actually on quite a short list. Even for the Movie Gallery that used to be there (closed down last year). Honestly, it was a few years later (after I left for FSU) that the Movie Gallery opened a section dedicated to foreign films. I was lucky to occasionally get to see a foreign film on the movie channels for DirecTV (the first one I can clearly recall was Run, Lola, Run) and when I got to see more foreign films and widen my palette it was when I was attending FSU in a city that allowed more access to films, such as A Question of Silence, La Dolce Vita, Malena, Irreversible, Breathless, Grand Illusion, Balzac and The Little Chinese Seamstress, Suzhou River, Red Sorghum, To Live, A Better Tomorrow, A Better Tomorrow II the entire Vengeance trilogy, Audition, Ichi The Killer and a few others that I can't remember their names right off the top of my head. Most of them were class assignments, others were stuff I picked up because I had access to them in Tallahassee. Even now, I'm still finding out a few that I have apparently missed (be it older or newer ones) and have been trying to make up for the lack of a lifetime's worth of seeing foreign movies. In fact, last year was the first time I actually got a chance to se 8 1/2.

I'll see what I can do. Can't make any promises (maybe I'll be lucky and catch copies from the Blockbuster that's closing down near by.
