Terra Nova?

Perhaps they will simply find Terra Nova's best deep core driller. He then in turn will assemble a lovable motley crew which will quickly train, spend copious amounts of Obama dollars on a stripper named Molly Mount.

Against all odds this team will reach the depth they needed to drill, plant a nuke, and make it back to Terra Nova.

They said the show costs $4 million dollars an episode to produce ,now I know they will cancel this when it tanks.

how do they communicate with the future?

several times it was mentioned that "they are planning to send 100 more next year.."

and things like "i dont know who i can trust from the future.."

it gave the distinct impression that they had communication with the future?
plot hole maybe?

Thanks Roack-a-who! :D

how does the future population know that they are actually going back into time and not being vaporized for population control?

I guess all copies of Logan's Run and 'the Island' were destroyed.

Ha! Didn't even think of that.

I thought that the people that were coming to Terra Nova from the future would bring messages for them. But that would make it one way communication.

They did make a big deal about how they couldn't go back to the future, so maybe it is just one way - but that gets back to neosporing's question. There's no way they are sending all that valuable stuff and people through to the past without some way of knowing it's working.

Liked it a lot.
Looking forward to next week. Glad they did not push the greeny-agenda so I can stick with the show. :thumbsup

What I want to know is, the girl strips down to a bikini, jumps off the cliff into the pond, rebel boy follows her, she shows him the writing, the next time we see the two of them they are meeting up with the other kids, the girl is fully clothed! How did she manage that? She left her clothes on the cliff!

Communication with the future"........... Leave them message where someone could find it 85,000,000 years in the future. Just like doc brown did in BTTF2. So they are in the same timeline.......

.. but they're not in the same timeline. There must be some sort of electronic communication possible through the time vortex or whatever it is.

didn't the young girl speak about the probe / monument being the proof they needed that they weren't in the same "timestream?" -- however when zoe asks to carve her name in the monument, pretty much is telling us that at some point in the future, we will see zoe's name on the monument.

bobaflint - i love you're attention to detail on the important things =)

Re: Communicating with the Future - thought similar when the Leader guy had the dossier on the escaped con/cop husband. Since it is a different "time stream" they couldn't even pull a "Bill and Ted" by just putting stuff in a lock box whenever they needed the future to know stuff.

And those bad-ass machine guns that they use should be shredding those dinosaurs, not just chasing them away.

Correct, she explained using the butterfly example as to why they were able to do whatever they want without affecting 22nd centruy Earht they left behind.

Maybe the Faraday rock scratcher is trying to prove the butterfly effect is wrong and it's more of a 'course correction' universe. Whatever happened, happened. It doesn't matter what they do, they can't change the future, in fact, they might actually cause it.

I meant the hand-held ones.

I worked for a tv show in the early 90's where people would send us crazy video footage. One tape that was sent in was of a circus elephant that went bezerk and was put down. The police shot this poor thing for over 4 hours with their pistols, rifles and shotguns and couldn't even come close to killing it. Eventually someone showed up with a special rifle that could penetrate the skull... Ugh, anyway considering how hard it is to kill an elephant with a rifle that holds more than one giant bullet...

Can do - build time shift machine to send people back to Jurassic Park

Can't do - fix pollution, build a gun that kills dinosaurs.

I like the show and the premise, but can't help thinking, maybe they could have made the Earth sky be blacked out for something like as second comet hit instead of pollution stupidity. Then they could have made the plot to develop completely the technology they had already started but couldn't finish that will let humans leave the planet by the time the comet strikes and kills off everything the first time?

And give people some better guns.

Neosporing - sad, crazy story. Elephants, hippos and Rhinos are tough!
