Re: Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, paiiinful
Ok, let's turn this the other way round: For me personally, I found it first interesting, when I heard TSCC for the first time. Not necessarily in a fanboy interested way, but interested like "Let's see and have a look what they offer" that type - producer Friedman said, it's not gonna be the Terminator-of-the-week, which I found good. I saw the first leaked pilot and I liked it, because the characters stayed the same - I could instantly recognize Sarah and John, the actors are different, but the way Sarah was portrayed in T2 was channeled through Lena very good as well as John by Thomas. He's older, left the events of T2 behind and wanted a "simple and quiet" life now, which is absolutely understandable. When Sarah got the dreams and left Charlie behind, he rebelled against his mother "there's no need to run" and stuff.
Within only 8 episodes I saw so much character development, that some series out there wouldn't accomplish in 4 seasons. Sarah's got also a softer side, not the only kick-ass shotgun handling mother; John's growth into the man he's destined to be and man up after Sakissian tried to murder him and his mom; the realization that he can't hide fron his destiny and decided for fight for humanity, so he doesn't need to run anymore and the price he has to pay for his decision, people that he also has to sent to death for John to live. That's what's never shown in Terminator - you only see future-John as a confident leader, but the how he's growing in was interesting and intense in TSCC and much better than the John from T3.
