Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Re: Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, paiiinful

Ok, let's turn this the other way round: For me personally, I found it first interesting, when I heard TSCC for the first time. Not necessarily in a fanboy interested way, but interested like "Let's see and have a look what they offer" that type - producer Friedman said, it's not gonna be the Terminator-of-the-week, which I found good. I saw the first leaked pilot and I liked it, because the characters stayed the same - I could instantly recognize Sarah and John, the actors are different, but the way Sarah was portrayed in T2 was channeled through Lena very good as well as John by Thomas. He's older, left the events of T2 behind and wanted a "simple and quiet" life now, which is absolutely understandable. When Sarah got the dreams and left Charlie behind, he rebelled against his mother "there's no need to run" and stuff.

Within only 8 episodes I saw so much character development, that some series out there wouldn't accomplish in 4 seasons. Sarah's got also a softer side, not the only kick-ass shotgun handling mother; John's growth into the man he's destined to be and man up after Sakissian tried to murder him and his mom; the realization that he can't hide fron his destiny and decided for fight for humanity, so he doesn't need to run anymore and the price he has to pay for his decision, people that he also has to sent to death for John to live. That's what's never shown in Terminator - you only see future-John as a confident leader, but the how he's growing in was interesting and intense in TSCC and much better than the John from T3.

So...there are several other Terminator threads out there, and it seems like the one over-arching theme is that some people like one part of the franchise, some people like another, but as a whole the thing no longer makes any damn sense at all?
Oh, the other threads comment was regarding OT Star Wars.

Like most time travel stories, when you get down to it...there's just no ducking the paradoxes/logical inconsistencies/etc.

I mean, couldn't the machines just send a pile of killer robots back in time to like 10,000 BC and nuke the **** out of the club weilding Neanderthals who would one day spawn John Connor? But then of course, humans would never have built Skynet, unless those robots stayed in 10,000BC and built it, since they'd know what to do I guess...or couldn't they just go back and quietly kill Sarah as a baby? Nuke the hospital? Or her parents? Grandparents? Nuke their whole damn towns? Once you establish the time travel assassination concept, unless there's some reason they can't travel back beyond a set point (which would be an illogical plot device), then the concept no longer works.

Sorry, getting a bit off topic, but as much as I love all thing Terminator, I've just had to shrug and accept that large chunks of it has got more holes than Sonny Corleone at a toll booth.
Reason they can't just nuke the place is that they'd likely kill off the people who are destined to design and work on building Skynet.

The Terminator's are infiltrators. Hit-and-run. In-and-out, before anyone knows you're there. To the police, he's just the goddamned weird phone-book killer of the week, turned cop-killer. No one suspects anything more than regular bad-guy. Sarah Connor was targeted for termination... to be snuffed out of existence without anyone really paying much attention to it at all. Just another unsolved set of murders. The more the Terminator kills beyond Sarah Connor and there's a risk Skynet will never be built.

C'mon rob tell us how you really feel about it! :lol

If you ever somehow end up with Summer I expect, no DEMAND Pics! :p

I hate SCC, nothing good to salvage from it.

I liked the show and the characters--especially Cameron and Derek. I was sad to see it go. There's really not much on TV worth watching now.

anyone know what season 3 of the sarah connor chronicles was gonna be like?

Have their ever been released story ideas or anything like that?

That ending was the biggest bummer ever

I'd love to see a continuation, but with Lena Heady sitting strong on GoT, I don't know how she could pull it off.

She died between Season 2 and 3. Or at least that is what they can say. Heck I would be satisfied if it would just follow Cameron.

Or that! :lol

Could follow cameron and john in the future war timeline where they ended up in the last episode. Then when Lena is free from GoT she could come back and kick ass.

Exactly :) and don't forget Allison ;)

It's kind of hard to have the Sarah Connor Chronicles without Sarah Connor though.

name change... The John Connor Chronicles. This time maybe even with the rights to use the terminator names, like T-800, and the use of the actual terminator endoskeletons, have it be as gory and such like the first film, instead of the watered down PG-13 stuff.
