Terminator: Genisys (Post-release)

They don't have anything left to lose do they... they will lose the rights in a few years, so milk milk milk

And they sure know how to.

Some how, somewhere, someone (in Hollywood) is going to pay (see what I did there?) to see Arnie back in big budget action films.
I hear now they are wanting him back to reprise his role of Dutch in the next installment of PREDATOR.

Just wanted to say how bad this film was. I wasn't expecting much but on my flight from HK to Barcelona I needed to fill the time and thought it can't be that bad right.....oh my word, how wrong was I!

All the casting, Arnie and Byung-hun Lee, aside was poor. The bloke playing Kyle Reese was absolutely dreadful and the new Sarah Connor, far too fluffy for me after Linda Hamilton and Lena Headley's bad-ass representations. The whole storyline was messy and lazy, with Arnie coining in another day as 'Pops'. It feels more like a re-edited version of separate episodes stitched into a movie, to throw a glimpse into the life of these characters over a period of days. Each day/episode starts with a shocking (read : spoiled by trailer) reveal, followed by "scientific" explanations, followed by CGI explosions and a chase. Zero chemistry between any of the cast, and wtf with 'Bad Boys' during the mug shots scenes after they are arrested?

......I also watched Spy on the same flight...a real glutton for punishment!

Yep Arnold still commands the overseas box office, he can still do no wrong over there!

Did the chinese government issue a general order to the population to "go see the film, or else"? :lol

I was in China during the release of the last film (Terminator Salvation) and that too was quite popular, so maybe the Chinese just like Terminator "stuff".

Many of the foreign markets are a few years behind the USA's sense of which stars & genres are "hot" in general.

Perhaps China didn't LOVE the movie but they gave it more of a chance than we did.

This flick also included an Asian Terminator for the first time in the franchise. That had to help a bit. US cinema doesn't use Asian actors for cool or badass roles as much as it should.

The story was messy, more like a untalented fanboy wrote a Terminator movie...The movie I want to see is the future that James Cameron created with just 5 min. in T1 and 5 min. in T2. A Whole Movie!!! Not the McG T4 crap... But the cool Cameron Post Apocalyptic vision, for a whole movie... Also, What really gets me is the casting!... Why can't actors and actresses be cast that at least have similar looks to the characters they are trying to reference? It takes me, a layman, 5 min. on imbd to pick two better choices for Kyle and Sarah...
Sam Caflin (Hunger Games) Tammy Gillis (White Noise)

But unlike the makers of previous "fanfilms" like Salvation us fans respect what Cameron created ;)
