Teecrooz’s Prop Collection: Updated: February 4, 2025

So Romans Empire just released their new handwheels. These are by far the best replica ever made! The construction, finishing, and details are pretty much spot on. I know I’ll never have to look for another real one again. I didn’t have to before, but I still did just in case...

For those that were worried, I can tell them apart from a vintage but I’m a bit particular when it comes to the Obi-Wan lightsaber. Romans are actually nicer than the real ones, and there is little to no chance that there is 40 year old bathroom gunk to clean off these, so that’s a bonus.

thanks for sharing, so yeah they are not exactly exactly similar, that's still going to be pretty darn hard to make sure on ebay pictures... o_O

Are there deliberate tells on the RE handwheels?

Visually - on the vintage ones, other than the fact that they look like they're brand freaking new (no 40 plus years of bathroom guck build up, & years of wear), not really. I think the internal metal parts were cast on the real ones, while Romans are milled. I mean, yes, if you had an original in one hand & a Romans in the other, & meticulously going over them both, yes. But if you were to turn your back while someone put both on a table, side by side, & turn around to pick which was which? You'd have a hard time. Check out Teecrooz's photo, a few posts up, of the two "cold" taps side by side.
