Here are a couple of pictures of the engravings I am working on for The Ambassador from Team Fortress 2. This was my first attempt at engraving and I used a Dremel engraving tool to layout some of the design before using a pen scribe to finish it off. Some of the overcuts and miscuts required Bondoing later down the line. The Material is Apoxie Sculpt and takes engraving pretty well, but it's very rigid so applying a lot of force to create deep grooves makes this technique prone to error in my experience. If you want to see the build up until this point or other builds I've worked on head to my prop blog.

I really want to know how you created those indents and curve- ins on the revolver barrel. Looks great so far.

With sandpaper. I honestly don't have much else. I am hoping this upcoming Kickstarter of mine will allow me to rent out space at a workshop nearby. They have it all, table saws, routers, drill presses. Anyway, we'll see.

I bought some of this adhesive sandpaper and applied it to various things. Getting the space for the ejection rod carved out took more time than engraving it did, lol.

Here is a recent picture of the mold I am working on. I intend to make and sell barrels that will be attachable to a 30 dollar airsoft gun you can get on Amazon. If all goes according to plan this barrel should allow it to remain functional. While not as visually accurate as a casting of the full gun I am making, might be neat to have a cheaper alternative that keeps the airsoft aspect of it in tact. What do you think?

Also, this is my first time ever making a mold, so if there are any blatant errors or feedback on it otherwise I would love to hear it. This is kind of a scary endeavor for me because it is expensive and relatively easy to screw up, it seems.

I'm using Rebound 25 and Plastipaste 2. Two brush on coats and a third coat using thi-vex thickner. Then Plastipaste 2 with Vaseline as a sealer for the clay and mold release for the silicon.

Sorry, it is this gun in any barrel length (because you will be replacing it with this barrel)

Here are a few progress pics of the casting process. This is my first time ever molding or casting anything so it is taking me a while to nail down a work flow in regard to how to pour. So far it seems like a thin detail coat and a back fill does the trick although I have only successfully done that twice now. I think next time I will figure out the volume of the object BEFORE wasting resin, lol.
