I guess better late than never!

Currently at 125 lbs, trying to gain weight so I don't look like a twig in my Spidey suit. I've started to lift every other day and eat more protein. Anything else I can do to bulk up?

Not just protein tho. Make sure you have protein but also carbs and fat. And do the occasional check up in the mirror or with a fat percentage device. If you gain weight too fast (as in high increase of fat percentage) change your diet accordingly.

you need enough cals, get yourself a big ol tub of good mass gainer. look at about a 500 surplus of cals to your daily requirements, adjust more if you aren't gaining weight. if your not hitting your cal intake even with mass gainer grab some natural peanut butter, its a god send(low carbs, awesome healthy fats, good protein and lots of cals)

Update time for me, at 147 lbs 9% bf changed up my diet majorly last month, cut most of my carbs and started intaking good fats plus the usual brotein lolz. Been seeing better results from this then my previous diet so starting October 1 st going to go on a bulk cycle, trying to aim for 155 lbs 7-8% by april or may.

Basically, if you're an ectomorph and struggle to put on weight; you'll need to consume more calories than you burn during the day regardless if it's in protein shakes or a whole lot of brown rice and grilled chicken. Take in ~1.5g of protein per lb of body weight to keep building muscle, and hit the gym HARD. Go lighter on cardio (use the Stairstepper instead of the treadmill) until you hit a little bit above your ideal weight, then use cardio to cut and get lean. Eat 5 smaller meals a day vs 3 large ones to prevent your body from turning stored calories into fat. Consume complex carbs instead of simple, there are more nutrients and digests slower in your gut. Make sure you get your RDA in vitamins and minerals, drink lots of water, and get 8 hours of sleep a night (it'll help you lift harder, build muscle faster, and allow your body to function at its best).

Well I just completed tough mudder Tahoe in 3.75-4hrs. It was godawful, but I finished. Hopefully that means I'm TASM ready

Nice man! Congrats! I've never done a marathon of any kind. Takes a lot of discipline to train so kudos to you.

As for me, this past weekend I decided to re-join my old Gym. I had only been doing home workouts for the past year or so and it helped me lose a lot of weight but I'm looking to bulk up a bit now and I need the equipment. I'll report on my progress as always :)

Great job everyone else!

Everyone download my fitness pal. This app is awesome. It does not offer any magic pills or fads like carb only diets or only eat white foods. It offers only raw data the key to the app is it gives you a set amount of calories per day in my case 1200. Right off the bat thats not enough so I have to earn more I get on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes I get to add 400 more calories that carries me enough calories with some left over for my 3 meals but what if I want some ice cream after dinner and I only have 35 calories left? 20 minutes on the stationary bike or 200 jumping jacks. This app has worked for me and my wife . I suppose you can do the same thing on a notepad but the app has the calorie content of just about every food

Thanks El. I'll just be continuing to pump iron and eat minimal carbs to make sure I still look the part.

I mentioned in the Fit Club thread, ran 5k in 30:17...

More work tonight and I've got enough protein shakes to last me 2 weeks

Here's my take. I used to be a gym rat, but not so much anymore as I got worried I won't fit in my suit. This is a mclean print btw, purchased from merkymerx if anyone wonders.

I wasn't wearing any shell in the pics. But I already purchased one and it's otw. Any advise you could give me to improve it better? This is my 2nd TASM suit and I'm looking forward to have it look perfect.

As for intakes, I took mutant branded supplements : mutant mass and mutant whey and some creatine tablets. Now I take Aminomax tablets to keep the shape as I don't want it to grow any larger.

I joined the Spidey "community" here recently (pics in the showcase) thanks to quovadis and KinoKauro and now I've got the fever. I was able to pull off the suit for the most part, but I'm the definition of "skinny fat" - I'm small at 5'6" 140ish, but I have some belly fat and it has to go. I want to create my own suit now, and I've joined a boot camp that I get a discount with due to my company, so hoping to shed that stubborn fat.

Awesome stuff, guys.

Here's some motivation/inspiration I found today. Not saying everybody aims for the same kind of specific results, just that if I've ever seen a "Spider-Man workout" it's this. Guy moves the way Spider-man must lounge around:

Wow, just wow!

I'm a martial artist and I go to my class 2/3 times a week, then I do an hour cardio and 1.5 hours weights routine a week.

I've always been small-ish and I'm 'skinny-fat', I have VERY little bodyfat but a big belly ^^

Want to get rid of that (I've been told it's mainly due to my bad posture) and bulk up a bit, will get pics up when I can.

My tailor just finished the final touch-ups on my suit (I dropped off the standard dress shirt that needed darts and a spidey suit lol). Just attached the soles and lenses last night with Shoe Goo, and my places smells like a chemical warfare depot. That said, I'm ready for Halloween! Here's the semi finished product and obligatory locker room selfie @ 5'8" 147lbs:

I am super super skinny guy, i am 15 , 1m70 and only 40kg , how can i get to 65 kg and how many push up should i do in a day

Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! YOU CAN DO IT by NOV 4

yo, at 160 now, gotta drop ten more pounds then bulk like a mad man, till I look what I think will be my spidey best. Abs are starting to show a bit too :D. since I'm still doing calorie restriction with my diet though Im not really making any muscle gains, but between the working out and the diet they are looking more defined. Might just have to jump to the bulking though because if my fat is being replaced by muscle I won't really see the weight loss, I'll just be looking better.

Find a beginner weight training program to follow (not just a vague number of pushups) and increase your protein and caloric intake by a mile. Get a proper program put together by someone with experience, like Strong Lifts or Starting Strength, and stick to it diligently for long enough for your body to train and grow. While eating a TON of clean fuels and lots of protein. Faffing around with "per day" numbers won't help you nearly as much as a structured workout plan will.

Pushups are great exercises and good for you, but they're not great for gaining mass specifically. Or course any challenging and consistent exercise will train your muscles to develop and respond, but certain lifts and weights are much much better for gaining mass.
For example, I can do 200 pushups in a row and execute between 400 and 500 pushups on training days, which is more than anyone else I know, and yet I am still a very lean and slim person, much smaller than most people I can crush in a pushup competition. I'm not training for size, so my regimen is not one I would recommend for someone trying to get gains that are 140% of their current weight. That person (you) needs to be building a strong strength platform first on which to then lift heavier and heavier weights in compound lifts. You need barbells and oats and chicken.

Here's a good starting resource for you:
index - gainit

Re: A lot of people working on TASM but are you also working on your fitness?

You have to eat. Lots of protien and vegetables. Animal protiens work better than shakes or bars, but they still make good snacks. Take in more calories than you burn off, while really taxing your muscles. Plenty of sleep, at least 8hrs a night. Take days off, don't work the same muscle groups everyday. Lay off the cardio, stick with weight training. Don't do a bulk phase too long, maybe 2 months followed by a lean phase, elsewise you could get a belly.
