Re: TASM Fitness Thread. Shirts off Challenge continues! RISE OF THE SPIDER-MEN Sept
This past year I've generally just tried to put on weight, as I was just over 70Kgs for a 6'2" guy. I've managed to increase it to over 83kgs by this method:
A) I go to the gym. I work on back, arms, and chest. I do legs and stomach in between, but not a great deal as my thighs are huge compared to my upper body. I recommend doing curls for your biceps; for triceps, put one knee on the bench, lift a dumbell in you opposite hand so that it's held under your body. Then extend you arm backwards until the arm is parallel with your body. Change hands and knees and repeat. I don't know what this is called but I was show vids on youtube. I also like using the lat pull down machine; use the wide grasp, the narrow grasp to breatsbone, and the narrow undergrasp to chest. A great workout for back, triceps and forarm extenders. For legs, I do the stepper; also, start running/jogging ont he spot, increased speed until your knees almost hit your chest. Great for legs and stomach. I try and keep to a 20 minute program where I do as many sets as I can.
B) After gym, I eat 4 fresh chicken breasts with sliced peppers, cashew nuts, broccoli and noodles. Occasionally chips. It takes me a full hour to eat, but I force myself to do it.
C) I work in an office, so 1. I'm sat down 2. I eat/snack more often that I used to.
I know, not the greatest way to get fit, but the results are showing, as family members have noticed I look larger/defined. I'm trying to do regular cardio, but I find it so boring, even with music in. I can barley manage a 4-5 min run before I just want to stop. I'm also hesitant to do too much cardio, and I feel I may get scrawnier. Any advice?
I do want to do pull ups etc, but the gym I go to doesn't have any bars for that. Could anyone recommend alternative ways to get this done?
