my ab workouts consist of planks 2 sets 45 seconds, elevated planks 2 sets 45 seconds, mountain climbers 2 set 30 reps, leg lifts 2 sets 25 reps, pulse ups 2 sets 25 reps, obliques with 40 lbs 50 reps on each side, medicine ball twists 50 reps. most days ill wear my weighted vest to add more weight. granted I have only been doing this routine since January and muscle takes time to build.
@josh. Like any other muscle the abs need to do be token down and then fueled (with high protein and clean carbs) immediately post lift. Doin crunches and body weight exercises simply won't do. Alcide from true blood would do 4 exerceis, 3 sets each of 30 reps of weighted work, 2 exercises involving plants for 3 sets of 60 seconds, and then jump rope for 10 minutes.
