Yea. Justing running might get you "ripped", but if you're looking to get a well muscled physique that's detrimental

This is why we do updates on Sundays. I worked out Mon-Thur and was doing really good. Then Fri happened and my wife had her b-day. Needless to say, went on a eating and drinking binge to celebrate her and these are the results. My advice: don't love your wife as much as I love mine LOL. The two pounds were worth it, but its time to get serious.

I feel ya man. I slacked of this weekend regarding what I ate. I'm at about 165-166 (my scale isn't that reliable, normally use the one at my gym). I'm off school this week so that means more time to work out. What's the rest of the team doing?

Ended up eating dirty this weekend, ill have to bust my ***** to refine it but Im up to 147lbs. core is starting to get tight finally but Im going to have to stop having cheat days and stick with the diet lol.

As I said before, looking mostly to tone up and get back to my previous levels of strength. And maybe, in time, I might be able to get myself a Spidey-Suit that doesn't end up like this

Edit: Oh, and just for reference, I'm 5'9" and 157 lbs, although my weight isn't really going to be an indicator of progress.

Hey Guys,

Im not gonna be posting any pics, but I just thought I would weigh in with a solution to a trap that young spidey-shape seekers might fall into.

Don’t just concentrate on your upper body!

In a nutshell, make sure you are doing an equal amount of heavy leg work, and you will in turn get improved results from your upper body workouts.

Your legs are the largest muscles in the body (glutes, quads hammies etc), and using these will cause large amounts of the body's natural chemical growth stimulants to be present in your blood, which in turn will help stimulate muscle growth elsewhere too.

As a trainer once put it, you cant have a big tree, without big roots!

Also, guys with big biceps and tiny legs look a bit odd ;)

Yeah I've improved a lot since january, and I've got a longer way to go yet. So, 5'9", and to my disgrace, 127 pounds. 13 more pounds to go!

This is truly an AMAZING thread! I would've definitely stumbled across this thread sooner if I had seen TAMS in 2012. I had just recently picked it up on Blu-Ray and I LOVE IT!

I have an old Raimi suit from '07 and have grown out of it. I kept it all these years hoping to don the red & blue again one day, but had gained much weight since. I now have MOOBS(Man + Boobs) and a GUT. Ironically, I started working out last week and strolled upon this thread while browsing for TASM costumes. I'll post pics(harmful to the human eye)and info tomorrow and will update on Sundays as mentioned to show progress. I'm not sure how much I'll lose by May 4th, but I have much to lose and will be continuing pass the date. I will keep posting till all is said and done.

The incentive here is better for me, I think. This is great to be sharing our journeys together as a unit whether it's long term/short term/lose weight/weight gain/etc. This is quite exciting... let's do this! :)

Pssst, my eyes hurt after going through all 15 pages and I'm sure my brain is fried as I don't even remember most of what I read lol :lol

I'm trying to get a Spidey suit for Anime Expo so here's my physique's at the moment. Cardio is something that I rarely do so that's going to be a top priority in the next few months. A chubby Spider-Man is an unhappy Spider-Man. I'm 5'3" and 125 lbs.

dude sick pics, I think everyone is in the same boat about abs, even now I poke and cant find them under the wee bit of fat on me lol.

Today Im devoting a whole workout to my abs, then maybe some chest after:)

I lost all my weight by cutting out 90% of my junk food intake (candy, soda, and any other thing high in calories and fats) I have been staying as active as I can(chasing my kids is a great workout lol) and the main weight loss secret is Slim fast. The stuff actually works if used as intended (once you get over the laughing haha). I snickered at the thought this would work however to my amazement it dose. I use it to replace 2 meals a day with light snacking in between and the occasional big fat juicy steak ;). I plan on getting to my goal of 170. I also work graveyard at the jail so that helps at times by all the walking I do and other physical activities. Its all about finding a diet that will work for you with me it was amazing results quickly like I wanted. I hope this can work for someone else. I for a long time thought I could never shed my weight but it was obtainable with support from my wife and kids that helped drive me.

Ok, so I took some DAY 1(before) pictures and weighed in this afternoon.

As shown in the picture, I weighed in this afternoon at 235.2 lbs.
My goal is to drop 60 lbs in total and I'm only 5'7, very short I feel.

Now I will diet and exercise my butt off and shall update along with everyone on Sundays :)

@josh. Like any other muscle the abs need to do be token down and then fueled (with high protein and clean carbs) immediately post lift. Doin crunches and body weight exercises simply won't do. Alcide from true blood would do 4 exerceis, 3 sets each of 30 reps of weighted work, 2 exercises involving plants for 3 sets of 60 seconds, and then jump rope for 10 minutes.
