Tactonyx GS-221 CARB aka Avatar Assault Rifle

That Is awesome Tactonyx!
Cant wait to see it in her finished, painted glory!

Do you have any "blueprints" for this gun, or made it using your eye as a ruler?
If you have any plans could you post it? Or the "base" rifles length, height, etc, etc, dimensions?

I don't know that you have it or not, but I have the decals for the 6.2mm mag.

Thx. Dork

Not sure where you got my decals from, if I had to guess, I would say from my CARB build thread at PropSummit where I go by the handle of The Loyalizer. I don't recall getting a PM over there or here asking if you could repost my graphics. I'm more than willing to provide the mods here my original Illustrator 8 files proving those decals are my work.

I have no problem sharing my graphics, but I do take exception to people redistributing them with out so much as a PM asking if they can or not crediting the original source.

As an added bonfide, here's the box mag with the decal applied: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e244/trilateralmxo/CarbMagazine.jpg taken about 4 minutes ago.

I don't agree with you, but I will not start an argument about this.
But if you read 3 post later after the "mentioned" post, i admitted, it wasn't my work. I just found it and offered it as a help to Tactonyx.

That is all.

Thanks guy's for the kind words, and thanks for sharing those pics, Collecktor. I have seen your CARB and you did a great job on it.
@ Dork, I know that what you did was done with good intentions, but I have to agree with Collektor, It's best to ask for permission first before posting someone elses work.
OK, I 've been a little quiet here and I'm sure everyone is wondering where the CARB and my AR2 are, Well heres a little update:
All of the major components are built for both the munitions launcher and the Assault rifle. All is left to do is bit's and pieces here and there and mostly sanding. I'm taking a small break from the CARB so I havn't worked on it for the last couple of weeks. I'll post some progress pics of my CARB her ein the next couple of day's, as soon as I finish painting my current project and have room on the table to take CARB pics.
Standby...

AWESOME project - LOVE the pics !! :love:love:love

Where are you now in the process? :love

Sanding, lots of sanding. Sorry, I've been so busy this summer that I've neglected to post pics when I said I would. Standby...

Ouch! I didn't think my CARB was that bad? Maybe these will change your minds?

Rifle and Munitions launcher combo. I intentionally left the rail bare of any notch's, as I'm in the process of molding "strip" notch's that I can simply glue onto the rail. I really like the carrying handle, I may use the casts on my own real world weapons.

Here's the munition launcher. Still finishing the flashlight.

Here's the standard rifle. I did cut out "Hexfast" on the foregrip, but the black marker on that spot would make it impossible to read without the aid of a light or a decent paintjob.

All I really have left on the CARB is the tiny details, such as nuts and bolts. I made latch's for teh foregrip and munitions launcher so one could "disengage" it from the base of the weapon. pretty cool huh? Also, I'm in the process of molding the fire selector and the trigger, as you may have already noticed, are absent from the gun. Questions, comments, critiques are welcomed.

Thanks guy's.

Here's another quick pic, the CARB PDW.

You would think the munitions launcher rifle combo would be my favorite, but I really like the basic rifle with the foregrip the best. Thanks for looking and feel free to comment.

Thanks guy's, this thing is turning out saweet! Think I've finally decided, I think the standard rifle config is my favorite. I just love that foregrip, so nice and comfortable.

@Sith Sheriff Brody
Like all of my projects, I use expanded PVC foamboard, or sintra board. I do use cardstock, but for minute stuff and cheating.

Aside from the rail slats, this thing is done. To clear up any confusion, I know I kept saying there are six varients of the CARB, where I got six from? I don't know, there are five different varients.
Now that that's outta the way, lets see a couple of the CARBS:

Munitions, Launcher. Obviously

Assault rifle with auxillery weapon. Cool

Now My personal favorite:

The standard rifle:

Heres a pic of most of the parts used to make four out of the five varients:

My evil master plan concerning the CARB is to have all of the varients hanging on my wall, so I sent these down to Ithica where he's going to mold these. Thanks for taking the time to look at them.

AWESOME pics - unbelievable amount of detail and work!!! :cool

:love:love:love

This project REALLY Rocks !!!! Thank you for all the pics !!!

You are casting these !?! :love
