OK...I am about to undertake my second pewter cast PKD Blaster kit from Rich. My first one went well so I figured I would try my hand at a second one... the parts arrived today and I will be posting a lot of photos on this thread as I go to try and help others who might be trying to build one as well...
so stay tuned for updates and thanks for checking out my work on this prop! Cheers! uploadfromtaptalk1402964859358.jpguploadfromtaptalk1402964873525.jpguploadfromtaptalk1402964887387.jpg
Also, on another note...the new Tomenosuke kit is coming out soon too and I'll be posting my build of that kit as well...

Its a really fun and challenging kit! What I like about it is how you can make it end up however you like!! This one will be easier since its my second go around and I have a better idea of how to approach it! Cheers!

I have one a already up that might be helpful if you need it...Feel free to ask any questions, I have built a bunch of these blasters...I'm not the best at it but I do pretty well...uploadfromtaptalk1402972561810.jpg
This was my last build...looking forward to seeing how yours comes out as well! Cheers!

More photos of the parts. Filed and shaped and ready for sanding...enjoy!uploadfromtaptalk1403063672778.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403063688837.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403063707822.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403063723193.jpg
There you have it first few hours of work done, more posting tomorrow... cheers!

Here are some more photos of my filing and shaping of the pewter parts before I start standing with 220 grit sandpaper...uploadfromtaptalk1403123794587.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123806669.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123816705.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123828852.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123839452.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123849976.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123862236.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123875177.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123887269.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123898508.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123909279.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123918520.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123928610.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123940198.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403123950981.jpg
Whew!...So there you have it! All of this was done with a set of Craftsman files and some metal snips to cut the back of the Steyr out...YES, I did it by hand, not machine...you can't put the pewter back on but you can file it off fairly quick!!! Enjoy and hope these help folks out!
cheers!

Please please keep posting information and pictures.... I am awaiting my first metal Coyle and bricking it because I've never built something like this before...

A few more shots...test fitting the raw, filed pieces for fitting before sanding for smoothing out the pewter!uploadfromtaptalk1403125228210.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403125241403.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403125251037.jpg
I used thread oil to insert the barrel smoothly into place after some filing and standing to make the hole able to fit the rear barrel insert...

All of this preparation took me about 6 hours over two days...main tools used were a set of craftsman files, a set of machinist screwdrivers, a set of metal snips and a little know and patience... if anyone has any problems with these kits you can ask here. I'll do what I can to help you out...hopefully my photos give a little guidance...cheers!

OK...I got A LOT done today...got almost all my parts filed and shaped and ready to go...did a mock assembly using very few screws and drilled, tapped and assembled the entire grip frame using EZ-Lok threaded inserts to prevent stripping in the handle since it is the most used part of the blaster. Here are some updated photos...enjoy! Any questions, feel free to ask....cheers!uploadfromtaptalk1403137809813.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137827650.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137839284.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137849926.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137865158.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137875599.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137886189.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137900982.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137918717.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137928135.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137937075.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137946071.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403137955106.jpg

Knocking it out!!! Got the grip frame drilled, threaded and put together, grips polished and ready, cylinder arm drilled and inserted, side covers drilled and tapped, Steyr shaped, sanded and front holes drilled...I'm getting this done way faster than I thought so this thread will be more photo heavy than lengthy descriptions... hope it helps ...cheers!

Help's tremendously. could use some really good pic shot's. when you go to cutting the ammo housing...thanks man.

I just use my grinder to fit the pieces in place...once the side covers are in place you can add the ammo housing...

Cool! thanks again darth. looks like you went full steam on this one. great work.:thumbsup
