T2 Donut head build thread

In the progress of inquiring about the eyes. Also need some predator eyes... so might as well inquire about those at the same time.

Have tried searching for the accurate pen, but only get colored pens. Must be searching wrong. :(

Can't wait to see more progress.

The pens should be pretty easy to find - it's just a disposable Bic ballpoint pen - they're sold here by the bag load:

I don't know what the heck I used for search-words. I think we have those in abundance here in DK too. Will go check when I'm going to town tomorrow. Thanks for a clearer view of an original.

Got my custom eye through from Tech Optics. I've very happy with the result and can now get on with finishing this bust. (y))

Worked on this a bit more since the eye arrived - inserted the Tech Optics eye, painted the distorted eye to match, glued on the wig and cut and styled the wig.

I'm using a Gregory wig, which is the standard when doing Arnie busts, as the T-1000's hair is VERY similar to Arnie's in the movie. I ordered a shade lighter than the wigs I've used for Arnie though - normally an 8 (Light Chestnut Brown) is used for Arnie - I've used a 10 (Medium Golden Brown) for the T-1000.

Of course, the wig is a real pain - the bullet hole in his head means the shape is really awkward, so the wig had to be partially glued down, then sliced and stuck down in sections.

Anyways, here he is at the moment:

Since taking this photo I've worked on bringing the hairline forward/down a bit more at the "widow's peak" and have added the eyebrows. Both hair and eyebrows still need tweaked further, and eyelashes added, before he's really done.

That looks great, eye looks spot on! It will be a while before I can do anymore on mine. I am out of work right now so all my prop projects are on hold. Can't wait to see your next update!

@Howlrunner - since you got a fantastic eye from Tech Optics, is there a spec or name we can give them so they can duplicate for us?

And, does anyone have a source for the name badge?

Just saw this thread. Amazing work!
Here's another reference image of the Bob Burns' original from back in 1992 when it was not yet decomposed:

Yours looks better!

OK, I'm finally done with this bust. :D

Got the hairline tweaked, did the eyebrows and the eyelashes. I got a big piece of 3 inch thick upholstery foam, cut out roughly oval sections (by drawing around the bottom of the bust for size, then reducing to eliminate the extra arm width) and layered them up to make a torso for him so that the name badge and police badge can be seen. Then I dressed him. At some point I may stuff the arms and have them at the sides.

Here he is:

I love that that T1000 and T800 both go to the same barbar. :)

My only gripe would be the chest looks a little beefy compared to Robert Patricks build in the film. Bring down his chest bulk and width and you'll nail the physical presence better.

T1000 is lean and mean.

Much better!

I also think this is the first time an armless bust doesn't look weird. It's technically within the realm of possiblility for the character!

You have done an amazing job with this. The hair looks a pain in the ass lol.
I really liked your first shot with the hair but something felt wrong and I couldnt put my finger on it.
I think it was the eye brow and hair line. Infact I just double checked and it was.

Really awesome job. Il be using this to help build mine although I may leave the tricky eye drilling lol :)

That's insane awesome. Have some thoughts in case it's possible. You should try and see if you could add hair in that point at the temple, as seen in the reference shot. Also, his widows peak could be a little sharper where it meets in the middle. I also lightened the color of his hair a bit as the dark look was mostly caused by the hair gel, and where it was combed tight to his scalp.
