T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

Regarding my M1, I bought acrylic teeth, slightly modified their shape to better match Arnold's bite, but the tooth shape still differs. The video shows a fitting of the teeth attached to clay. After that, today I started forming the seating areas for the teeth in the upper jaw, and there is still a lot of work ahead, and I really hope that this forum thread will continue to thrive and be filled with rare materials that will help all of us realize all our projects!
It's interesting why so few people think to warm up their jaw and stretch it slightly forward when assembling the M1 so that the teeth and jaw supports start to align?
I continue to work on my T1 skull. I've cut out the ports on the head because I'll be completely redoing them. The sockets for the teeth have been formed in the jaws, and the teeth are temporarily glued in with hot glue, but the bite is 99% final. The shape of the teeth, of course, differs from the original, but I've tried to align the positions of the teeth with those of Arnold's and the Terminator's teeth. Now I need to work on the ports. I'll make the CPU port like in T1; I have all the necessary information for that. However, I can't make the rear port yet, and I really hope that some photos of this port will emerge in this regard. For the rear port, to begin with, I'll create a cylindrical cup with a bottom. At the same time, I need to make recessed temple slots for the temple parts. Here's where the problem with the temple parts arises; I still haven't even bought the original German 88mm flak gun 1-48 kit (buying something outside my country is now very difficult or expensive). Also, I don't have scans of the temple parts in the old style yet; I've decided to completely abandon the M1 temple parts as I don't like them.

I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, so everything's fine. But I can't help but notice that the details of the robot body really should be more symmetrical, whereas the head doesn't necessarily have to be. Since the Terminator has the appearance of a specific person, and that person almost certainly doesn't have perfectly symmetrical facial features, their skull isn't symmetrical either. This means that to replicate the shape of a person's face, Skynet would have had to create slightly asymmetrical skulls for each appearance. Even Arnold has a very asymmetrical face, remember how crooked his glasses were in T2. I also like the idea that all the differences in Terminator skulls are just features of their construction under the biological shell (the human appearance they were mimicking), which explains why Terminator skulls in the universe differ from each other.

Moreover, I'm very interested in observing your work, and I would like to see its progress more often. You have a very pleasant mesh topology. I myself have been wanting to start retopologizing my skull for a long time (when I finish its more accurate version), ensuring that its topology is correct so that the surface is smooth without dents when smoothed. I wonder, based on which skull your skull is made, and what are its temple details?
If the face is perfectly symmetrical, it looks uncomfortable, like Genisys.
However, if the face is left asymmetrical, it will look distorted.
Therefore, it is important to find the right balance between symmetry and asymmetry.

Did something I didn't really think would turn out okay. I cut the lower part of the LFS skull away to get rid of that extra added length to the skull due to the 2 halves of the mold potentially not closing tight enough, leaving room for a lot of flashing. Using two fiberglass cutting wheels instead of just one gave me the perfect width to completely trim it away in one go and have both pieces still line up even with that 2-5mm gap removed. Will now have to join the two pieces back together and fill the opened seam. But that may take some time.

For funsies... a comparison between an early DeltaDesignRus, the finished DeltaDesignRus and my foam skull. I cannot put my finger on it - maybe it is the oversized eyes and not closed jaw in the DeltaDesignRus - but it is completely lacking the menace I see in my foam skull scan. My old computer really cannot handle these big models... took about 30 minutes of just crunching before it would let me take a screen capture of these three together. :)

Do you know what the difference is? On the right, I simply turned and dropped my jaw, as well as raised my eyes.

Is this also an unlicensed copy of M1?

The phantom one is really good quality wise compared to the Thai recasts. It’s still smaller than the M1 though. There was another one years ago as well which sold through “Monsters in Motion” I think. I’m pretty sure the Thai recasts are from the Phantom though as they have the separate face plate.

Yeah, that's the picture. It's an insane difference.

Yeah, I believe the Phantom is a recast and not using original molds, but I think it is a Western one, so they were using better materials... but still a recast.

I believe the one sold on Monsters in Motion was the SOL kit. Another Western (I think) recast.

There was an actual M1 kit on eBay a few weeks ago that was at an agreeable price. Not the $500-$900 some people think it is worth.

Too Much Garlic is talking about the parts above for the chest ( got ‘em)

Also below are some of the pieces at the back of the nasal cavity (the part on the left needs to be cut from a larger part)

I've been up for almost a day, studying the structure of the T1 skull. Decided to condense all the important information about the nasal structure into two pictures.

Could be. There are some weapon triggers that have those grooves on the side.

EDIT: Oh, I was thinking of the actual trigger... but yeah... there are screw on trigger guards that has a similar shape.
