T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

I don't usually make movies, so I have to read the manual to do it.
For now, just still images.

if the cinemaquette really was a 3d scan, I can now see some small mistakes that I made on the lower jaw, I made it too small and not positioned correctly and I still need to sculpt a few things. thanks for the pictures, that was very helpful, let us know how you get the paint off your models and what it looks like afterwards, the model is really great and it would be a shame not to get it back, luckily nothing broke off
Thanks, Very helpful Thats it :)))

Comparison between spine scans.

- ghostman Cinemaquette photogrammetry scan to the left
- my LFS v1 scan in the middle - you can see how compressed my 2 bottom spine pieces are compared to the Cinemaquette and the added material to the bottom of the third spine piece to make it flat.
- ghostman spine photogrammetry scan to the right - presumably a LFS v2 (likely sculpted by swpropmaker).

The cool thing is that now we can recreate the SWS style spine as well as the rectangular chest piece I've been looking for, for so long. I'll still be looking for casts or 3D scans of originals... but this is getting us really close to perfection. There are a few things altered on the Cinemaquette spine, but it is easy to add those details back in when we use these as reference to sculpt our new ones.

I'm also using the neck pieces to fix the warp on the LFS neck pieces, as well as getting the guy doing the spine and chest piece to also sculpt the sixth neck piece as well - he also plans to sculpt the sixth and seventh spine piece... as well as sculpting transition pieces inside the chest to connect spine and neck, like is seen in the Cinemaquette, but done with a better and smoother transition between the two.

Working on the piston ball joint ends yesterday. Made a bit of progress, but made a lot of mistakes I managed to correct before going to bed. Today, I decided to look at the actual LFS castings of the piston ball joint ends, instead of just the rough 3D scan of one, and noticed new things, which I've added. Now I just need that raised bit on the top and then add the rod segments to the bottom and one side. Then all I need after that is to create that screw head for the other side.

These are the two parts shown together. The ball itself and the shroud. I can show them separately later. Considering doing the shroud in two parts that has to be glued together... but we will have to test the fit and make changes if needed.

For the full size walk-around endo maybe polyethylene foam could work, if it is possible to make castings with it.

Check out the Wicked Makers "We made a FNAF Animatronic to Scare our Neighbors!" Youtube video.

Or maybe do the parts like my foam skull? Uncertain what it is made from. But it probably wouldn't be able to support pistons ver well, so maybe just do the skull like that.

If you’re talking about those ball joints I’ve bought the metal parts and aluminium rods for mine. Probably not exactly the same but very similar.

I think Im ready to print a full scale T800, What filament do you think would be best? ( I've seen others fill the inside with resin/expanding foam for more support )

Since I'm here, anyone reached a concencous on the best 3D print available Endoskeleton at the moment?

Hobby World on Youtube printed his in PLA and strengthened it and removedlayer lines with UV-resin.

There are several different 3D models available, some free, some paid, so just look around and see which one feels right to you.

Found some pictures online that I couldn't remember if I had seen posted before... they may have, but thought I'd post them anyway just in case.

These seem to be alternative angles to one posted earlier of Stan Winston working on painting the T1 endo.

And here's a T4 picture of the endo on the rack. At first I thought it was the Hot Toys 1:6 scale one... but if I remember correctly the HT one doesn't look like this.

Well, not to sidetrack the thread, but, considering this is endoskull related, I got my first printer to give this a shot myself

Im using an FDM, with PLA matte for now because I'm not trying to get discouraged just yet with failed prints due to not having the settings dialed in with the more temperamental filaments.

This is my first attempt with anything like this- so... if you see something wrong, it’s because I have no idea what I'm doing, haha... just having fun.

Regarding endo 3D models, there are a few makers.

There is also the free Kerak model from Thingiverse which Hobby World printed.
