Stop making crap.

Stop attacking fans

Stop wasting money going after youtubers, or trying to manage critics, reactions, etc.

Make it not suck and release it. Done.
Disney:

There is a scene from one of the shorts of Love, Death and Robot, the short called The Day The Yogurt Took Over. In the scene, the super intelligent yogurt gives the government a step-by-step plan to achieve peace in exchange for the yogurt to get the state of Ohio. It tells the government that they’d have peace within a short time if they followed the steps. The government in the short didn’t, which resulted in things going wrong. Disney is like the government in that short: everyone tells them what they need to do in order to be profitable, but they choose not to listen.

"Here at Alt Disney it is our goal to make sure everyone is properly represented. If your character were previously bad they are now good. If they were dwarfs, they are now giants. Most of all, if they were male leads, they are most certainly British females."

Those darn Brits. They just can't let go of the fact that they lost the war against us scrappy Yankees. I mean, c'mon! It's only been 200 plus years! Get over it. Lol

So the Ghost of Christmas Future showed me a glimpse of myself in 20yrs if i continue to stay on the RPF and expect Disney to ever produce anything worth watching.

"In my day, we didn't have this DEI crap...we had Italians dress up as Indians and Irishman dress up as Cowboys and called it Spaghetti Westerns, and it was good, and we liked it that way." lol

Atleast, this is how anyone who disagrees with Disney is stereotyped to be.

And the music was very very good.

Different franchise…I know…

But—I highly recommend that anyone interested in diving into the topic of how substandard the writing is for modern Star Trek and Disney Star Wars television productions, compared to the past, read at least one of the These Are The Voyages series of books by Marc Cushman.

These books chronicle the exhaustive amount of work that went into the writing of each episode of The Original Series.

The first volume, covering season one of the series, is also available on Audible (hopefully, other volumes will be added, soon):

What is truly mind blowing is that the studio was able to produce what they did with a far more limited budget and being responsible for producing at least double the number of episodes, each season, compared to modern streaming productions (22 or more episodes per-season vs. 8 - 10 episodes for modern streamers).

What is also a key takeaway is the talent and life experience of the writers of The Original Series, many of whom were classic science fiction authors in their own right, were military veterans who were well-suited for writing a quasi-military show, and had done prior quality work on other classic sci-fi shows…like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. To put it bluntly, these writers had the talent and life experiences that our modern “creatives” seem to lack.

Compare the talent, originality, and experiences of those classic writers to the…”writers”…of modern Star Wars and Star Trek:

Totally agree, I recently went back to watch old Doctor Who series, going back to the 60’s & 70’s, the joke always was about how cheap the monsters & sets were, but the writing is far superior to what we get now or even on the 2005 relaunch, & character development!!!

Every time I see that dry erase board it's like looking into the mind of a robot that's learning to write fiction. Those lists are so hopelessly corporatized that it makes the brainstorm diagrams we were taught how to use in elementary school look like works of genius.

I propose a change to the thread title to:

SW Acolyte in a tail spin Thread in a tail spin.

Yeah, decent idea but then someone will propose another change SW Acolyte in a tail spin Thread in a tail spin Thread in a tail spin...you see where that's going ? Lol

It's really more like Taco Bell isn't it? When you're sick in tired of your food and water bill being so high because you've gone to the toilet so many times, you'll either get sick of going to the toilet or eating Taco Bell. So the solution is, just stop eating Taco Bell and it will solve everything.

Sooner or later our butts will be done tired
Of all the pushin' and wipin' but it's sure is about time to give this SW excrement of a show one final flush...one more spin if you will.

EVERYONE needs to be big enough to simply say something is not for them and let it go. Seems that level of maturity is gone these days. I get people being protective of star wars, but they are throwing out lots of stuff in different eras. If one isnt for you wait for the next. No one is going to like everything and that is fine. The acolyte wouldnt have survived with no hate, the numbees just didnt bear it out, doesnt seem to many are willing to leave it at that either. Anyone who watched knows it failed on writing and direction, not on who was cast.

Exactly

Star Wars suffers most from trying to walk the line between being family/kid friendly and catering to the original audience.

You can't really do both

Kid friendly shows are just not meant to be held up to the level of scrutiny thrown at it. Yes some of the Star Wars stuff is more adult themed like Andor, but really, what would you expect from things like Rebels.

My 10 year old nephew loves all this stuff. A lot of younger people also do

Many fans have simply turned into the "get off my lawn" old geezer stereotype

Some things are going to pander more to the OT crowd while others are clearly meant for a newer younger audience.

These days it is just all to easy to jump on the podcast/youtube hate bandwagon because it helps people feel superior.

Sure there is bad writing, but Star Wars in truth always had it's share of bad writing moments.

With its themes and messaging is The Acolyte really meant for kids or any of the Disney Star Wars.
If you answer yes, then you've stumbled on to one of the fundamental problems with the show. and others.
Don't try to be something you're not.

A simple philosophy is written right into the lore they are so adamant about breaking and
making into something unrecognizable.

Do or do not.
There is no try.
That is why it failed.

How can anyone possibly think we'd be tired of complaining about it yet? You're not even tired of complaining about us complaining about yet!

on that note, CopperRevan why you so harsh on Taco Bell bro, they didn't force you to eat it, you could have just ignored it and went over to chipotle and got some family friendly foods made for kids...... Then flush and repeat.....

See, the bots got nothing new, same sad story, same fake excuses, then flush and repeat.

But, the flush and repeat sounds so much better with me defending Tbell and Chi-fire.
