"Here at Alt Disney it is our goal to make sure everyone is properly represented. If your character were previously bad they are now good. If they were dwarfs, they are now giants. Most of all, if they were male leads, they are most certainly British females."
So the Ghost of Christmas Future showed me a glimpse of myself in 20yrs if i continue to stay on the RPF and expect Disney to ever produce anything worth watching.

"In my day, we didn't have this DEI crap...we had Italians dress up as Indians and Irishman dress up as Cowboys and called it Spaghetti Westerns, and it was good, and we liked it that way." lol
Atleast, this is how anyone who disagrees with Disney is stereotyped to be.
Totally agree, I recently went back to watch old Doctor Who series, going back to the 60’s & 70’s, the joke always was about how cheap the monsters & sets were, but the writing is far superior to what we get now or even on the 2005 relaunch, & character development!!!Different franchise…I know…

But—I highly recommend that anyone interested in diving into the topic of how substandard the writing is for modern Star Trek and Disney Star Wars television productions, compared to the past, read at least one of the These Are The Voyages series of books by Marc Cushman.
These books chronicle the exhaustive amount of work that went into the writing of each episode of The Original Series.
The first volume, covering season one of the series, is also available on Audible (hopefully, other volumes will be added, soon):

What is truly mind blowing is that the studio was able to produce what they did with a far more limited budget and being responsible for producing at least double the number of episodes, each season, compared to modern streaming productions (22 or more episodes per season vs. 8 - 10 episodes for modern streamers).
What is also a key takeaway is the talent and life experience of the writers of The Original Series, many of whom were classic science fiction authors in their own right, many were military veterans writing a military show, and had done the work on other quality shows, like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. To put it bluntly, they had the talent and life experiences that these modern “creatives” seem to lack.

Every time I see that dry erase board it's like looking into the mind of a robot that's learning to write fiction. Those lists are so hopelessly corporatized that it makes the brainstorm diagrams we were taught how to use in elementary school look like works of genius.

EVERYONE needs to be big enough to simply say something is not for them and let it go. Seems that level of maturity is gone these days. I get people being protective of star wars, but they are throwing out lots of stuff in different eras. If one isnt for you wait for the next. No one is going to like everything and that is fine. The acolyte wouldnt have survived with no hate, the numbees just didnt bear it out, doesnt seem to many are willing to leave it at that either. Anyone who watched knows it failed on writing and direction, not on who was cast.
How can anyone possibly think we'd be tired of complaining about it yet? You're not even tired of complaining about us complaining about yet!
